I just found this video. But also I was an expert. As old age has removed that information.
We have one in our shop right now. It's in horrible shape tho. Not like yours.
But here's what little I remember. Berrin originally made them from rejected steel tubing from of all places, MAYTAG! Yes originally made from old washing machine steel. So the first were made from 1 3/4. He went to 1 1/2 after they were not so picky about the steel tubing quality. And 1 1/2 was still cheaper to switch to. And I believe a friend or family member bought the old tubing bending stuff. And started an exhaust shop. As that's where the original equipment came from. That I remember because I used the same machine at 18 when working at my first mechanic job outside the family one. Funny story. I was hired because the exhaust guy, COULDN'T WELD! 😅

Thanks for everyones comments. I began this build with no particular time line in mind but I have been making steady progress. I will post a follow up update soon and highlight some interesting features I have incorporated.

Looking good Dave. Are you going to have it powder coated?

Thanks! I am. Performance Trail Powder Coatings recently added an oven large enough to accommodate frames. Blue for the base color and I'm powder coating detail parts in yellow. I may have Performance ceramic coat the exhaust pipes as well. Offers great corrosion protection!

Where can I get the frame?

Acme car company/Berrien Buggy discontinued many of the frames they had offered. However, if I wanted another Stalker II frame I would contact Berrien Buggy and see if at the very least they could cut and bend up the frame and let me jig it and weld it. Ideally, they would jig and weld. Berrien still has the plans and the Stalker II is shown on their website. Though it is "unavailable".

First thing you need to do is get rid of that ball joint front end and get a kingpin unit.

If I were going for a Baja bug I would do that for sure.
