- Guinea Fowl Noises are fun to figure out. Our guineas are a little over 6 weeks and have just started to do more than just chirp! Check out the difference between guinea fowl male sounds and guinea fowl female sounds. Our next video will be a progression of guinea keet growth from 0-6 weeks so if you don't want to miss that video, make sure to subscribe for the notification :)

I hear a few more males and only the one female so far. Here's to hoping there are more females getting ready to show! We'll keep posting updates on them so make sure to subscribe :)
I SO Love guinea fowl! I have a flock of 12 in their own huge cage/free-ranging, the bonded parent pair living with my chooks - and also free-ranging; one ridiculously friendly male who sleeps inside the house and seems to think I'm his girl, and 4 keets living in a brooder in the bathroom. There are definite differences in the sounds they make even this young (of course they are nothing like the adult noises), so I'm taking many videos/audios in the hope that they will yield clues as to the sex of each one once I can confirm who is what in a few more weeks. Most people would think they look the same, but a mother knows... Wondering if you noticed the different sounds they made when they were 3-4 weeks compared to 6 weeks?
Great video sweetie!
Just saw your video posted on FB group. Loved your video. I miss my guineas
Thanks!! Will you be getting more?
@@thefiveacrefarmfamily if I can talk Chris into it lol
@@ASimpleLifewithChrisTara lol!
My female maximum time stayed silent
Thank you for the info , I’m thankful we have both sounds in our flock of 8 !
That is great!!! We ended up with 5 males and 5 females but sadly one of our females was snatched up by a hawk right behind my back when we first moved them to the farm :-(
😪@@thefiveacrefarmfamily we lost a polish hen named Polly to what we suspect was an ariel predator also and our cat was attacked by something too . She (cat) ended up surviving the attack but half of her tail was broken and eventually fell off . Poor thing won't go outside the pole barn anymore 🥺 .
@@BornAgainFarmGirl that is so sad :-( poor kitty :-(
@@thefiveacrefarmfamily yeah it was and is sad cause she’s still shook .
So the female is the two syllable sound?
Yes! That's correct 😁
Is the sound the only way to tell the difference?
I personally can also tell the difference in their wattles as the males have larger darker wattles and the females are smaller, and I also can tell the difference in their stance/temperament. Males are more sporadic in their movements whereas the females are slower and more dainty in my opinion.
I so hate guineas, this your first time having them?
HAHA!! Yes it is! They are pretty neat birds! We got them in hopes that they will take the tick population down dramatically:-)
I noticed females are bigger than males on average, and they walk from whole foot, males step on toes like ballerina.
