Uh, Nick, I’ve got a question.
Nick, “I thought you might”
Will my grandchildren get to watch your children get the Wagner running someday?
We are tentatively looking at a April 2076 posting date for that video. All jokes aside, it is extremely frustrating for us too as we need to work together to do it and must have a good 2-3 winter months. Issue is 2020 we bought the fixer upper lake house and worked on that, 2021 leg arms broke his arm, 2022 we built a needed seed cleaner, and 2023 we are building homes. I have thought about doing one video just getting it running but I would hate to get started and then shut the project down only to pick it up months later.
What do you guys think?

@@WelkerFarms I think it would still be worth it in my opinion but completely understand the time shortage.
We never threw anything away on the farm. We had 4 engines from a model T and A that were wrapped up in that old black plastic and my brothers wanted to take them to the salvage metal yard but I paid them what salvage metal was bringing and stored them for another 40 years. I sold each one of them for more than what a new complete performance engine would cost from Chevrolet X 4. Never sell scrap metal and call it twice loved.

One thing’s for sure, if the world devolves into a Mad Max type situation, Welker’s farm will piece together the coolest vehicles & have them running!
Something tells me that they've already done this! We just don't get "THAT" part of the farm ;)
Hoping it doesn’t happen anytime soon but I’d be happy to work and live in the welker state.

There is something quite satisfying about driving older trucks and the CoE trucks. freedom from computers on a rig.
This Dodge has the best-looking cab, in my opinion. 👍
Gotta love the old grain trucks that had a box that could only go up 30 degrees and then you had to shovel out the last 100bu because they put the axles way too far ahead on the frame for the box and the box couldn’t max out it’s height going into the auger lol.
Mr Chops should mop the Dodge as there's some cool 1950s rat rod art on the truck. Yes it's a farm truck for fertilizer but it would look pretty neat with the International.
Tail-gate on pickup trucks, usually end gates on old grain trucks and farm wagons. Electric assist thermostatic choke.
Armstrong steering makes you plan ahead.
Always easier to roll and then steer. Plan for that space needed.
That truck is so cool. The 3 piece hood was made by a genius. I see the old Tonya Harding came out of retirement.
That truck is one of the better looking trucks on the farm.. Dont forget to fix the wipers Nick as they may come in handy in spring.
I wanna see it get a Injected Hemi or a Cummins Swap !!

Hey Nick & Scott; after watching your content - allot involving repairing, thought you might be interested in the ChemFree SmartWasher system. I've been using it for little over a year now and am very happy. The solvent is water based, has microbes which eat petroleum products, never needs changing, and is not toxic at all. The solvent is cheap, microbes are replenished with the Ozzymats, Ozzy Booster, or when adding more Ozzy Juice as it is water based and naturally evaporates. The washer is expensive, but a Harblrfreight washer can be modified for much less. The key to make the Ozzy Juice work is heat, maintain 110 degrees. I can go into more if you want. Good luck.

Nick, you were supposed blow Seafoam as a mist into the intake. Not dump it in! So it carries over all the intake valves and valleys...
Revving the engine makes plenty of aiflow to throw the seafoam on internals.

I’ve got a 1945 Ford murcury that was the families grain truck
Was always in the shed and no one but my family ever owned it we hoped to get into and get it running removed tge heads and was pleasantly surprised to find everything minus tge radiator was in good shape
Since the flat head engine is pretty easy to find parts for and once we ripped the sides of the grain box off to find a nice hard one deck to it thE plan was to turn it into a tool and service truck. I still can’t get over how simple those early engines are.
those old tanks work good for kids clubhouses and deer blinds

Awesome again, years ago we had an old 55 Ford f600 with a good box that was our seed truck, always took a couple days to get going, never failed us! Thanks for sharing, but she gets put to work!
HAHA... Back when I was about 12-13, we pulled an old 69 international grain truck (binder) out of our corn crib. The guy that was in the the truck steering came flying out of the cab........... He was being swarmed by bees.....

Hi Nick you should put a electric fan on that Dodge. The fan is to far away to keep engine cool. You will also gain 10 to 15 hp.

Most of all, I like the color of the dodge. In the 60’s , we had dodge grain trucks .

That seafoam is awesome. but get the engine at running temp then pour it in and let it sit for like an hour then run the snot out of the engine.

That shifter reminds me of the old RAT FINK cartoons!
The carburetor. A kit. The old kits and old carburetors. The plunger for the fuel inside were made out of leather. Then went to rubber. Then just tune up. I miss the old equipment. My two old 1970's pickups. In my young years. Working on them. I would crawl underneath the hood and work on the engine. I lost part of my hearing in doing so. Yet. From standing on the outside of the trucks. I would time the engine by ear. A timing gun was always off. Because of the timing chain and gears. The back fire out of the carburetor. Enjoy the old truck. It's amazing. Thanks for sharing. Take care.
Nice Job on the shifter. And you are correct the old 350 were work horses. I have a 350 4 Bolt Main in my mother's garage ready to bolt into my future car. Hopefully a 67-69 chevelle. I built the 350 blue printed and balance with a friend who owns a machine shop who did aviation motors for the airforce. have a great weekend.
That old radio is a gem.
A lot of people don't know how well seafoam, or similar product's really clean thing's up. Liquid molly and bg44k work well to. Many newer car's are direct gas injected, and the engine's get carboned up, and then they use oil. I use liquid molly or bg44k in my gas, and then i also use the engine flush when changing the oil because it cleans it up as well. The stuff i use in the oil is mild, because otherwise you could clog thing's up that come out like sludge. I bought a new car in 2019, and have used all this from the start to avoid the carbon build up. This old rig will be useful, and as obtaining running truck's like this become harder to obtain, it's good to get these old truck's running. I believe california, along with 15 or 16 other state's will be selling ev vehicle's only. Western truck and tractor work's in california, and oregon, but in california, they make you put a hole in the engine block so it can't be used. Warren said that if you know where to put the hole, the metal can be welded, and the engine will run fine. I guess where he lives in oregon doesn't have that law yet, so he has welded many steel block's. G-d bless, hope we get a house update from leg arm's.
You are very right with the new cars and carbon build up, but you might be attacking it the wrong way. Using BG44 is great but adding it to your gas only cleans up the injectors and won't do anything for the carbon issues on the intake valves. If you can find a vacuum port to the intake, use some vacuum line and stick it in the can of BG or Seafoam and let the engine vacuum slowly suck it in. That will get to the intake and the intake valves that are the real problem of carbon build up in new gasoline direct inject (GDI) engines. Just wanted to offer a tip and I hope it helps.
Nick, just a thought here. Rather than dumping the seafoam in the carb, try this. Find a vacuum port to the intake, use some vacuum line and stick it in the can of Seafoam and let the engine vacuum slowly suck it in. Just like you did, let it sit after the bottle is empty for 10 min and then give it a go. You will get more product in that way and not risk hydro locking a cylinder. Hope it helps.
Another way to do the Seafoam is to use a vacuum line and let it pull it in that way, do like a spray paint can top full, let it sit for 20 mins then start. Do this on all of my vehicles like once a year.
His twin looks lonely now. Maybe a 4BT out of a bread truck?
Oh and the bread truck would make a great shed out at the bin site.

I remember those days when pusher axles were added to those single axle tracks. We had a few of them. Never seen a hoist like that one either.

We used to use transmission oil down the carb! Stops the knocking! LOL!
Just a heads up, the world's biggest big bud plow day in alvordton Ohio will be next summer. 4 big buds will be there plus the two worlds largest plows which they will be pulling.

We had a 64 900.. had a 413 in it originally, 5 speed and a 2 speed rear end.. and now, the bare engine block and heads would be worth more than twice the rest of the truck.
Nick, they do make an aerosol seafoam you spray into the carb at a high idle as well

That seafoam goes in the gas and oil they sell a specify aerosol fogger seafoam that you spray down the carb to get all the carbon and stuff out of the motor
Something tells me the 4 foot long shifter isn’t factory… not sure if it’s the fact that it can smack the steering wheel or that you need your head on the ceiling to read the shift pattern.
I bought a boat with 3.0 merc locked up put some seafoam into the cylinders and she ran like a champ for 6 years till we sold it..

We have a 1950 gmc 3 ton a few hours north of you in Alberta. We do some combining with a cockshut combine at a tractor club. Driving it with 300 bushels is fun. Takes a while to get up to speed with the little strait 6.
I'd guess not to worried about blowing the computer on that rig when welding the shifter. Instead of Baby Blue more like Babe to Blue Dodge 👍😊👍

I always use Seafoam in the gas tanks of lawnmowers or what engines sat unused for a while.
