It's always nice to see any episode of this short-lived game show. I vaguely remember seeing an episode one summer vacation while staying in a motel room.
On "Whew!" at 5:00 the phone number is not operative as is the mailing address to be a contestant, and this never aired on BUZZR as this originally first aired September 17, 1979 on CBS. RIP Tom Kennedy, Rod Roddy and Jay Wolpert.
Great, Wink. Thanks for this. I always find it so ironic that Rod Roddy always says, "Stay tuned for The Price Is Right, next over most of these CBS stations," unaware that A.) he would begin announcing for another fun game show that also aired before TPIR, three years after this one ended, Press Your Luck, and B.) would replace Johnny Olsen as announcer for TPIR several months after Olsen's passing in 1985. He, of course, would remain its announcer until his passing in 2003.
Whew! is the OG game show back in the 1970's and 80's. But, if the show has revived on primetime television (ABC, Fox, CBS, TBS, The CW, or NBC), one celebrity will be hosting the show for its big return.
I feel like I've heard some college or high school marching band perform the theme for Whew! in a halftime show. And if I'm wrong, someone should do it!
Whew will always be one of my all time favorite game shows!
This was always a great game, and gotta love the giant moving set pieces. They don't make shows like this anymore. Hope to see a reboot one day.

Too funny, thanks for posting this gem!
Great 1979 CBS game show cult classic gem!!

Seriously, I could see this in a modern setting...

Awesome! How many episodes of Whew! were there?
According to Wikipedia: 273 episodes.
273 episodes, 138 with civilian contestants and 135 as Celebrity Whew (civilian and celebrity teams)

The opening sequence was created by Hanna-Barbera
Can't wait.
9:47 He set the trap at $200; I saw it
Keep 'em coming!
Given Buzzr's decision to can it relatively quickly, Wink's Team should just post the whole series, maybe to Internet Archive.
Robin did good. 😀👍
