    I was on the team that restored that Sycamore! In the RAF Good old Harry Enfield - Narrator.

    My dad was a rotor development engineer at Bristols at that time and ran the rotor test tower at Filton. Nice to hear the blades are so highly regarded.

    fascinating - I wonder if Peter Schmid's example is still flying?
    One minor error - Westland only took over Bristol Helicopters at Weston Super Mare, along with Fairey and Saunders Roe aircraft interests. The substantive Bristol Aircraft Co became the third part of BAC with Vickers and English Electric.

    I remember sycamore help crashing at RAF Ternhill Shropshire in 1965 the aircraft was scrapped as there was problems with the rotars

    Bubble on the side of the flying example? Some kind of observer post maybe ...

      I think the bubbles on the early helicopters where to give enough space for a stretcher across the back.
