    After several tries with manjaro xfce, i3 manjaro, arcolinux, pure Arch...i tried eOS Atlantis just i3 version and i definitely gonna keep it, it is light, fast, stable, fast, very polished and very fast!! I definitely recommend it

    Hey man Thanks for uploading these informative videos! You helped me initially choose PopOS, then manjaro, then finally, arch!
    I owe my linux journey to you! cheers mate!!!
    Can you maybe do a video on the archlinux gui installer??

    I recently installed EndeavourOS in my Thinkpad x220 and it works great with the option to use online or offline installer. I pick online installer to install xfce with i3 wm and download latest system update and upgrade. They really nailed the part to partition disk where there is point and click option to use existing linux partition which I really like. But I decided to re-partition which is also easy. For the record, I never saw any distro that I tried make partitioning process not confusing. Or maybe it's just me. Having easy to use Arch-based system is an absolute win.

    Thanks for another excellent video. Thank you for covering my new favorite OS. I recently switched from Manjaro and Endeavor OS runs much more smoothly on my Dell Inspiron laptop.

    Good video. I'd like to see you do one with Arch-GUI, with whichever DE you want to start with, then set it up the way you would want it. Arch GUI makes installing a basic vanilla arch with your desktop of preference so simple, with a few things already configured, such as printer support. Other than that, it's just pacman and the arch repos, then you go from there.

    I just installed endeavour OS onto a old desktop 🖥 pc.
    I installed with Cinnamon DE and I am in love with it just clean and functional. Rather enjoying the process.

    Хорошая система. Пользуюсь около полугода с i3wm. Доволен

  •  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    been looking last couple of days for a tiling, floating window manager. dwm, c based compile source, awesome wm based on dwm, lua scripting. bspwm also. but I settled down on the i3-gaps wm fork, think endeavour is using that one too.

    Except for package managers it seems to me that most distros are pretty much the same. Sure you can make them look different with colors and whatnot but all the same functions are there if you want them. How well the run on the hardware you have is the most important thing. They all have their glitchy little quirks though.

    • @deidyomega
      @deidyomega 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Really you only have Arch, Debian, and Fedora. The rest are just combos of themes, packages, and install scripts.
      But yeah, they are all basically the same. You can turn ubuntu into mint with enough tweaking of configs :D

    I tried it, my wireless would not load (AX1650 - aka KillerNetwork) iwifi modules were loaded. Then the sound did not work as it was missing a module. I will report it to them see if we can get a small update.

    I am for the first time experiencing linux with dual boot. I am a windows user. Must say linux can run smoothly on any system. The only backfire is linux has literary few few app and game support. QUESTION is what will I with all the resources saving when I can't even play a game.? 😁

    A great review, the only thing stopping me using endeavour is not knowing how to install Pamac, was waiting with bated breath and then..........you skipped the install Argggh any chance of showing us that part of the video. Cheers, and congrats on the move. :)
