In my past organization i filed patents and those were taken by my manager on the name of just being my manager. Everyone in India is looking to them first and about you at your workplace and in society.
You must blame those Employees who built such Softwares to monitor employees like Time Camp just to prove themselves some Genius and get some appreciation mails from Managers. What Employees built is being used against Employees only. 🤭
My previous company used to do monitor each and everything we all do even when we are in office. Going to washrooms, sitting idle for 5+ mins needed justification. Because of that employees limited their washroom breaks for 2 times a day
There are lot of waste applications existing with lot of limitations which are of no use. When employee is not in demand, the company will find reasons to fire them. These applications help them in finding reasons. All show, no go. Bottom line, always try to be in demand by upskilling yourself

Her new, clueless boss, wanted to know why they were paying a certain IT guy $180,000/year, because she said, "we would have to hire 5 people to replace him and what he does/knows how to do" Many bosses I have worked for over the years were clueless idiots who got their jobs because of local politics--not because they were stellar employees.

So all the time spent in Western workplaces are like doing a graveyard shift _ just silence, working like a clock work mouse and every computer spys on what your actions are and it behaves like a mean, cruel boss. Honesty is looked down upon but turning a blind eye to everything within the organisation that should not be taking place, is the norm. Also slander, gossip, back stabbing and unfairness is a game. Very unprofessional behaviour. Most are there not on merit but because they have mother or a defacto placing them there. It is hard to deal with lazy folks who are there because they know no one can do a thing. HR is dud. Team leaders never teach the job to all fairly but choose who to show the job to so that the ones left behind always reach out to them, thereby giving the impression that they are the most busy lot. I guess this is an American and British way of running organisations.
Just go back to farming. Stick to what you're good with. Kick out the Americans. Tell them to take home all their cars, planes, phones, all the technology you don't need while you're farming.
