lol. the author of this tutorial does know what he is talking about. no explanations, just showing off. and actually what he does is wrong. read the manual, learn the tool and you will get what i mean.
Thank you so much for taking the time to make this tutorial. .You saved me a lot of time and grief during a stressful deadline for a client project.. If I could take you out for a beer, I would. :)
You can't reference the railroad tracks to the right while ignoring the rail ties that are at a perfect 90 degree angle to the tracks. If you had used the ties to determine your foreground horizontal grid line initially, you would have got the correct perspective. Incorrect perspective in a perspective matching tutorial, but very nicely produced tutorial overall. I couldn't help myself :-).
IFlyAnytime i was wondering the same cause his perspective is not right. It‘s obviously as he introduce the floor. The edge on the right is not matching at all. Anyway i will give this technique a try.
this guy does not know what he is talking about dude. just smart attitude and no real knowledge of how the calibration tool works. happy other people noticed that too.
If you don't see your image once you put it in your calibration tag, go to filter and check on your camera. I was beating my head against the wall to figure it out.
Thank you so much! What others have said; you have made this so easy. I couldn't get my camera to match up, after following another tutorial. They failed to mention to press the target camera icon. Sheesh!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Yes, you are funny but keep the jokes to a minimum and continue to keep your simple direct style of delivery when making your points. The text on screen that introduces the next topic or point is good too (I subscribed and liked here and liked and followed on FB) Keep up the good work!
You're the best Mario, thanks so much for this tutorial, saved a project I was working on for my reel! Definite sub from me! Its funny how there are hour long tutorials on the same thing for other renderers like vray, maxwell, and octane yet this technique took 9 minutes to learn for the ones right out of the box... You have my respect!
Lloyd Wright I really appreciate your comment! I am happy my tutorial has helped your project!!! I too don't understand why people keep making such long tutorials... mine will alway be under 10 minutes top!! :D
precise tutorial? almost everything he said is wrong and obscure. even the matching itself is guess work. really bad tutorial. when you learn the tool you will understand it. no teaching method actually because he does not explain anything (of the wrong things he does), making you less intelligent, step by step. although the tutorial feels snappy and to the point, it is actually dangerous, correct appealing garbage.
awesome tutorial, i had a problem with casting shadows with camera mapping and your tutorial helped me solve it, super informative and an expert with details! thnx bro thumbs up if you guys agree
Thanks for this! Is there a updated way to do this with Redshift? I noticed the floor / compositing tags are no longer there when using Redshift. I have to go back and forth and change render settings.
Amazing, straightforward tutorial! Thank you! What about landscape matching? Where there are no human made objects to align the grid to? I run to this problem and am interested if You or Someone knows the right process.
Great stuff. Thanks for this one. I see you are not changing any settings in camera but what happens if the image is taken with an a 8mm fisheye lens? In this case can grid still work?
thanks for the video, but I have a problem, I import my image, then apply the Camera Calibrator tag, I insert my image but when I hit create grid or line or pin nothing happens, theres no line or grid :/ thanks for the help in advance
Hello my friend! I found your channel extremelly useful and thought to ask you a question. I haven't found a Cinema 4D tutorial that teaches me to put a balcony on a facade in a realistic way. The idea is simple, I have an 2d image of a buildning and a 3d model of a balcony, I have been using SolidWorks Visualize but watching your tutorials makes me want to learn C4D. If I support you with the files would you be able/be interested in making a tutorial about it? Thanks so much for all your work. With appreciation, Paul Deucher
very clear? he does not explain anything correctly and all the things he say are obscured. he really does not know what he is talking about. use the calibration tool just a bit, read the manual, understand what the tool does and how and you will come to the same conclusion.
thank you for another exellent tutorial. just one question. @ 3:28 when I add a cube my background image disapears. I can only see the background image again when clicking the camera calibration TAG again but then I dont see my cube. Please advice thx.
+MStudio thx I did - by cclicking "create background object" And all is fine and background txture is created and added. but as soon as I create a box the BG disapers ? could it be a bug in v.16
i need help here. i added the grid on the floor and a line for the heigth-axis. But the first three boxes are yellow, the others red. (the calibration status boxes). Can you help me?
+G&M Media-Design All right, I solved it. Can't tell why but for this scene it works better if you use a grid on the left wall instead. Don't place anything on the floor.
Not sure about that plane position. How can you be sure that was a rectangular plane defining it on the line-less ground? Guessing? Algorythms from outer space? Placing it on the train tracks would be match better. The pin does not tell the camera position, but the world origin. although this tutorial covers all the necessary steps, i feel that it does it without understanding the very basics of how this tools works, and that what a tutorial should be. Cinema 4D has a comprehensive set of tools to refine camera position etc. It has Color Coded checks of whether the calibration is satisfactory. The workflow and possibilties are so different from what is described here, which, i am afraid, is totally a video made by a guy who really does not know what he is talking about.
The amount of hour long videos ive watched to find out how to prespective match.
and youve just done it in 9 minutes. you god.
not exactly. this tutorial may cover things in a totally random/wrong way. but after 2 years, you must have understood it.
dude, I just want to thank you for always being straightforward. Your no-nonsense explanations are the main reason why your stuff is great
lol. the author of this tutorial does know what he is talking about. no explanations, just showing off. and actually what he does is wrong. read the manual, learn the tool and you will get what i mean.
2020 and still relevant! Will you make new videos? This is one of the best channel about this topics
Thank you so much for taking the time to make this tutorial. .You saved me a lot of time and grief during a stressful deadline for a client project..
If I could take you out for a beer, I would. :)
C4D has, by far, the best perspective matching out there.
fspy.....
im just glad u speak english ...i hate tutorials where u have to try learning hard techniques and also try figuring out what is being said
Tutorial on point without any senseless informations, thanks a lot

same here, I realize the same fail.
thnx mario i actully spoke to you on Facebook before through the c4d group : your doing a great job but keep it up dont stop

If you don't see your image once you put it in your calibration tag, go to filter and check on your camera.

NaidioXD Wow, thanks a lot for your comment!
Nice!, but the floor doesn't match the perspective very well.
Not important in this particular case though...
+Davide Boscolo There's always room for improvement :)
perfect! sub already
i need help here.
i added the grid on the floor and a line for the heigth-axis.
But the first three boxes are yellow, the others red. (the calibration status boxes). Can you help me?
+G&M Media-Design Did you tell cinema to wich axes belong every side of the grid? and that the vertical line is the Y axis?
Watch at minute 2:06 :)
I did. I put a screenshot here, maybe that makes it easier:
prntscr.com/8n8gs6
+G&M Media-Design Looks good so far... did you add the pin? or if it doesn't work, just try again... sometimes is the easiest solution :)
Pin is in the middle, below that green circle. And this is actually my 3rd try :D
+G&M Media-Design All right, I solved it. Can't tell why but for this scene it works better if you use a grid on the left wall instead. Don't place anything on the floor.
there is not "camera calibrator" in my C4D lite :(
you should have a previous version of Cinema 4D... if you upgrade you will find it!
hi man I can ask u.....where are from because u r tut great
thank u for tuts and tool box ,a but it I can't find the screw lol :)
Lahssen Hadjai Hello! I am from Italy :D The screws are in the left pocket of the Tool Box :D

awesome, but, if it was a video?
