I've worked with motion capture for a couple years. It's exciting to see features coming to C4D. As for the markers you're using and the number to use... Typically, a smaller number should be used for markers so large. If you want detailed tracking, it may be worthwhile to use small pieces of reflective tape and shoot through a ring light. I don't know how C4D handles non-rigid bodies (like limbs, or even facial features), but it'll be interesting to experiment. I'd love it if programs like Vicon or Maya were needed, since those often break the bank.
Hi man, amazing tut, I wanted to know how did you create the dynamic balls at the end, I tried using the cloner and dynamics tag and the dynamics arenot working when they are inside the object tracker. Any tips on that? Thanks...
Only brand new to this software but this appears to be the best, most helpful and detailed channel to help me learn that I’ve come across.. thanks so much bud
Two questions: 1. What is the keyboard shortcut to zoom and reposition the footage? 2. Why are my user tracks only tracking one frame, and then are unable to track any more (tracking options become greyed out)
Great tutorial! When I render a frame to picture viewer it only shows the objects with a black background. How do I get the frame of the footage to render also with the objects?
Can anyone help me? Tracking done all well but the position and rotation whenever there's movement doesn't seem to follow its orientation... anyone got any ideas? My footage is an iPhone being rotated and I tracked the screen. but rotation isn't being applied, not that I see..
Very Cool. In my ignorance I thought that the balls were somehow electronically linked to the software but its just visual reference for motiontracking :)
Can someone help me? I am very new to C4d. I have followed the tutorial and I have got to the part where you Target the User Features from the Object Tracker. How do I make the Sphere and give it the jiggly effect?
this was great! just a small question, can i track a face without the traking balls? i mean, using facial features, like the tip of the nose or the ears. im asking because what if what i want is to make the 3d objects appear in the scene. Thank for this tutorial it was really good
If your tracking is good enough, you can. The white balls are only there to help tracking (High contrast with the rest of the clip). But you will probably need to do a lot of manual correction.
It’s common to add small tracking markers to actors’ faces that you can use to track the motion. Just include in the post process a pass in which you erase them using the very same tracking info you got from them.
New to Cinema 4D, this tutorial was super helpful. I have a question regarding tracking data, I have a few bum frames that I was trying to remove similarly to how I would when working with After Effects. The project itself starts to look more cleaned up, but when I save quit out and reopen my C4D project, all those keyframes I didn't want come back. Am I not replacing the tracking data with information it needs, thus the keyframes returning?
Just buy balls like these from the dollar store (if they're available there) or in the arts/crafts shops where they sell supplies for art projects, i don't know about your country, but here in Bulgaria, they're not pricey at all ,glue them / or use a tape / to a simple black hat and voilà 😁
I'm curious about one situation. In my scene, at the "sphere step" (near the end) I have one single frame that is off. How can I correct this ? Have I to redo all the mocap at this frame or is it a way to correct this single frame while keeping the contraint tag ?

When I click the "Run 3D Solver for Object" button. NOTHING HAPPENS. No error, no result, nothing. It's like the button isn't connected to any function in the code. It doesn't crash, fail, succeed. Nothing. Please help, anyone... help.
@@MegaAlexPink Did you ever figure it out? I have 15 points and still same where I click and nothing happens (even Run 3D solver button in 3D Solve tab in Motion Tracker)
@@eddie-11 no im afraid not as a fix. I just had to workaround. There is no use in rushing, manual tracking 8 or or 9 points feels slow but then works. Sorry i cant be more directly helpful.
@@MegaAlexPink Thanks for the reply. I took time to do 15 points but then in R21 it worked. I tried again in R19 and it took a while but worked (without indication at lower left corner) but points are 1000s of cm away so it's all wrong and unusable even though my points are tracked well. Not sure what your work around was but I'm thinking I'll do this in AE.
The comnt section is very positive and downright encouraging! Love it!
It's so pleasing. The setuping and mastering softs amazing.
Really nice job. I did so stuff with MIDI/DAW/soft banks wayyy back in like 99/00 in college and was ok at it. I bought soft soft last
Take a week just learning the basics and you will be good, I been using soft soft since it was Fruity Loops back in 03, and still learn

when you’re in the channel rack, click on gms to open up the gms nu, in the light blue screen on the top left look where it says

You need at least 7 trackers to track an object, or 3 for a geometry-assisted solve.
below that u cant click those button
