    Very interesting. We have very rich volcanic soil and my 2 lemon Meyers bought from a good nursery some 5 years ago are huge and always green but we get very few flowers or fruit. Hard to remember when actually. Should they come out as bad stock perhaps? We don't feed them at all as they are so green and leafy, but that's all they do. Any suggestions please? Also never pruned them. Should we? They are in a sheltered place between a wall and a small house and we do get temperatures around 0 in winter here in New Zealand, they've never been bothered at all.

      crazy all the way from New Zealand. I have a video coming out about why citrus don't fruit. 2 main reasons though: too shaded or you have a seedling not grafted tree.

      I have a morro that's been in ground 2 seasons. It's about 3ft tall. It's putting on a lot of growth this season, but still no blooms either.

    I had small tangerines on my tree before putting it in the ground 3.5 yrs ago. Since then I haven’t produced any flowers or tangerines. And it doesn’t grow past 2 feet tall. What can I do?

    I tried to air layer my tree and the branch I used produced more flowers, is it because I peeled the bark ? Can you experiment with this

    • @qctropicals
      @qctropicals  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      When trees feel threatened and conditions are right, they will flower to produce offspring. That's probably what happened to your tree. It felt it was going to die so it flowered as last resort to save itself.

    It looks like your tree is growing in a 6" pot. I know thats impossible so what happened? Was the tree planted before the sidewalk was poured? Great channel btw. See 6:55

      Grapefruit has been in the ground for over 20 years. Not in a pot and yes it was planted before the concrete.
