Hi Randy ... I have used the Personal macro book for years now with over 50 basic macros most commonly used. For Sales tracking, doing my commission's ... Books that were not mine but needed my look and feel for easy access and reporting. I had icons linked for each of these. Obviously you outdo everyone with your brilliant thinking and programming ... Thank you once again. Greatly appreciated 🙏
WOW Amazing Nearen, Thanks so much. I really appreciate that. I was a bit slow with the download link (however your macro library sounds amazing) Here is the download link if you need it bit.ly/PersonalMacro_WkbkDl Thank you for your Likes, Shares & Comments. It really helps.
I've been using my Personal Macro Workbook for a couple years now and it's been a tremendous help. I recently turned it into an Add-In as well. I'd like to know when I set the worksheet to a certain format in my Personal Workbook.xlsb, e.g. Format all cells Calibri Font and Middle Align, will every new workbook worksheet retain that formatting? Thanks
Hi Derick thanks so much. The personal macro workbook macros are available in this workbook and can be used in any other workbook once copied and pasted into the new workbook. What you can do is create a macro to set the formatting you like, and store this macro in your personal workbook library, then in any new workbook, bring the macro to the new workbook and run it just once, or for each new sheet you create I hope this helps and thanks so much.
Hi and thank so much. Sorry we missed the download link on launch, but here it is: bit.ly/PersonalMacro_WkbkDl I hope this helps and thanks so much for your kind words
Hi Peter, not yet, but I will be adding some macros in 2 weeks (the library is constantly updated) so you can just press a button and any new macros will automatically come to your library. What type of macros would you like concerning tables?
create table, extract data, find last unused row in table column, how to reference a column in your table and row create table macro and so on@@ExcelForFreelancers
Hi Master, I just want to ask, can we create this as a normal xlsb file? Or should we specify any custom settings (apart from the default file path to save it) via VBA code.(I mean 'vbHidden or something like that?) What's your best practice? Thanks a lot!
Hi and thanks you can keep it visible as there should be no need for the hidden as long as you can access it. Thank you for your Likes, Shares & Comments. It really helps.
@@ExcelForFreelancers Thanks for the info. Now I'm experimenting with Personal vs Add-in as a code repository. The problem is that under work conditions, Personal often causes some kind of issue, so I have to lock it, which solves it, but it is inflexible when I want to edit it. On the other hand, a smooth buffer add-in without a ribbon UI does not cause any problems (appearing up and down, save request...etc.).
Thanks so much for sharing. I do understand for sure and it sounds like you have it handled. Thank you for your Likes, Shares & Comments. It really helps.

Hello Randy, I am using a Mc book with MACOS Ventura and running the Excel 2016 version in which VBA version 7.1 is installed. The macro to create the list is throwing me a run-time error "438" Object doesn't support this property or method. The debugger shows this line xlApp.Visible = False as being the problem. Is it possible that the version of Excel 2016 isn't supporting this feature. Or is there a bypass for the MAC to create the list of macros. I discovered more flaws in the past running Excel on a Mac book pro. Thanks in advance for your reaction
Thanks for your email. Excel on Mac's is a whole different ball game and to be honest i have never used a Mac, so the code required is often very different There is a great site on Excel for Mac's here www.macexcel.com/ I would not be much of help for coding on a Mac. I would suggest running Parallels which allows you to use full windows versions of Excel, directly in your Mac. I hope this helps and thanks so much.
Hi Randy. I have a problem running the 'List macros' routine. It stopped on the line: Set vbProj = xlWorkbook.VBProject ' Create an instance of the VBIDE.VBProject object, with the error: Runtime Error '1004' - Programmatic access to Visual Basic Project is not trusted. Any help please?
Hi and thanks very much. You can fix this issue when you go into the Excel Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Macro Settings > then check the 'Trust access to the VBA project object model' I hope this helps and thanks so much.
Hi Randy, when I try to run this code, it returned an error: "Programatic access to VBP is not trusted". Could you please advise me how to fix it? Thank you!
I have followed all these steps: 1 If for any reson your Personal Macro Workbook has been disabled or is not being displayed in the VBA Editor you can re-enable it 2 Go to Excel Options > Addins 3 Select on Manage 'Disabled Items' and click Go >>> I don't see anything in the dialog 4 Locate your Personal Macro Workbook & click Enable
Hi and thanks. As an extra security measure, Microsoft disables macros from workbooks downloaded over the internet. You can fix this once and for all by following the steps I have outlined on this page www.excelforfreelancers.com/how-to-fix-macro-blocking-issue/ I hope this helps and thanks so much.
