You talking about "purple vision" reminded me of something. When I was a teen, I once put a red light bulb in my room and had only red light in there. After a few hours with only the red light, my eyes adapted to it and when I went outside everything looked really weird for a while. Fascinating effect.
If you wear a carved pumpkin on your head endermen won't get angry , however you do see the pumpkin frame as your vision and I'm unsure if there's a way to change it but if you're just building in the end I think it'd be very helpful 😊

I believe you need to cover the glowstone with purple carpet to get the right effect
Or use frog lights!
