These are great! Also finally I get why Biggar was so furious, all I saw was him steaming at his own teammates as they came off and I couldn't quite figure out why in live-time.
Rugby referee - possibly the most under-appreciated job in all of sport. These guys (and girls) are incredible at what they do and we would not have the game we love without them.
I am one. Let me tell you, it was easier in times before law changes became something like changing one's socks. Every single year there's some change in law to make the game more of what it's become: a version of rugby league. Goal line drop outs: seriously? 50-22: seriously? And don't get me started about lowering the high tackle mark from above the shoulders to the armpits. Then there's the scrums.
With Rugby there’s a lot more breaks than football, slower paced so that type of action allows for refs to explain things more effectively with players
At a Northampton saints game several seasons ago as we listened to the ref Mic during the game that was refereed by Nigel Owens, there was a scum collapse and a Clermont prop had a word with Nigel and the comment came over the mic and In a broard welsh accent “ I’m allowing him off the pitch and he can come back on with out delay as he has Shat himself” We all just looked at each other with the same question “ did he just say that ? Lol. And then half the ground started to laugh 😂 😂
As a Referee who started last season, this has been awesome for me to learn from Professionals like this through videos and also using the compilations that you have created! Fantastic work and keep it up
The back ten yards rule should be a very active part of rugby, it shuts players up, right quick. Especially when you’ve got an angry Andy Farrell in your face at half time.
@@harryshawyer2093 Despite being a captain who did have a tendency for being in the ref’s ear a lot, I never saw a ref simply refuse to keep speaking with Sexton?
You want to know why South Africa and the All Blacks keep winning world cups? Because they don’t spend half the game playing ref. They spend 80 minutes playing rugby.
Love that from farrel in the first clip. Respect is a 2 way street and just because you have authority over the game doesn't mean you can act like a twat
Normally I’d agree but I think Farell has made a rod for his own back. You can’t chirp incessantly at the referee and then get all sensitive when they reply sarcastically. Pretty sure the ref knows how many penalties have been conceded, he doesn’t need Farell reminding him.
@@thegingerbread2241 Hi job is to communicate, sure, not to whinge and moan like we know he's capable of. He's made a rod for his own back, unfortunately.
Refs need to be higher paid as they are terrible, most have not played and any level and don’t understand how players manipulate the rules. I captained most of my professional games and always had a great relationship with my refs as it was down to pure manipulation. Most wanted to be decent players but couldn’t manage it. I have a few who recognised this and when I pushed the boundaries we would always have a humour filled conversation as he knew exactly what I was doing and I knew that he knew. 🤣👍

I love the authority rugby reffs have on players. Keeps the game flowing and under control. Much better than football

I just started as a ref this season. Its hard to watch a game now as I'm watching the ref trying to learn from them!
Keep up the great work Andrew!

0:55 ref didn’t understand “am gonnie kick it there”

Love these compilations, thanks a million Andrew!

Why is Andy Farrell in refs faces 😂😂
Farrel: "i can count"
Ref: "you cant blame me doubting that"
Referee, The hardest rugby position to play!
Rugby is the only sport where the referee is considered a player.
6:18 is best, smallest guy bossing world player of the year. Too good
Football has rules but rugby has laws.
"For South Africa, for South Africa!!!!!" ❤🇿🇦
Some few funny chirps in there!!😂😂 You have to be authoritive at all times, it is one rough job with all the emotions too..😅
Owen Farrell was absolutely right. Im sure that ref was very embarrassed that he let himself down in that way.
A class video as always mate keep up the great work
6:40 your country doesn’t have a World Cup 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂
I didn’t hear that when I was editing! But it’s now clear as day, annoyed I didn’t catch it!
Humble south africans as always
@@maximilienshalloe😂😂😂 they don’t change
When you know they bribed the last one, it's even funnier
The days of the completely in control rugby ref appears to be over.
Wanted to see where Duncan did kick from…
"pocket of doom" 😂
Excellent video. Thanks so much for your efforts
Owen Farrell “ I read a book once and it was Green “
There's a way to make friends 😂
"I'll swop you 10 seconds for a meter" 😅😅
I’ll swap you 10 seconds for a metre. Classic.
Farrell got roasted 🤣🤣🤣
James Ryan having his captaincy stripped by a ref 2 weeks in a row for poor behaviour is extremely embarrassing and a bad indicator for the future.
He learned from Sexton, so no surprises really...

Rugby is far far better on this than football
OOOoh, the loudmouths, likes to steal the show.!!
For South Africa❤️
Stupid bundee
Man third person quotes like that are hilarious
1:38 should’ve been a penalty against England
Smith thought he was scrum half
this is great ‼️
👊🔥

Is there one between Barnes, Foley and Beaumont saying" we effed the ABs again, well done lads"......?

Not so much of an issue in rugby but a common problem with officials in other sports
Agreed poor from luke Pearce

Don't apologise for Biggar, I'm glad he's gone !
unreal, swop you 10 secs ref if I can kick from a meter forward...Disgusting behavior.

Women commentators just not right.
