I remember when I was about 15 living with my cousin my older friends were all going to Amsterdam and I wanted to go too, my cousin said no and put this movie on and made me watch it. By the end she said ‘I love you more than you know and I would do anything to protect you. But I’m not Liam and the fact of the matter is I probably would never find you’ we both cried and I finally understood that she wasn’t doing it to be strict she was keeping me safe
Liam Neeson and the crew of this movie had NO idea this movie would be a hit. Audienced LOVED seeing Neeson kick ass and be the father that gives these terrible men he kills what they deserved. They messed with the wrong father and thanks to this film Neeson established himself as an action star =)

The first one of this series, "Taken," is practically perfect. The others are okay, but this is definitely the top one. Kidnappings do happen all of the time, including children, and they do get trafficked. In the US, the child is often led away by a woman posing as a friend. We know that kids get taken, and this is what provokes the strong reactions people have to this movie. We know the crime is real, but the heroism ... unfotrunately, that doesn't happen. That's the fantasy here.
This was a high end trafficking ring that dealt with exclusive "clients", who were extremely rich and had very specific tastes in young women. They targeted luxury hotels not rundown bus and train stations. They had no interest in long term prostitutes; they were going to sell these girls to the highest payers and they would use them and kill them off.
This movie is one of my favorite Liam Neeson movies. It exemplifies what happens when women fail to listen to the most important men in their life. Without direction and guidance from a man, women self-destruct.

Sadly in my country (italy) Romanians have a very bad reputation. And prostitution from west countries is lower nowdays but was huge like 10-15 years ago. Now a lot of Romanians have very profitable private business, houses and respectable families. But the bad reputation remain. I worked for years with a Romanian guy, very good guy. He shows me pictures of his hometown ( a little village from the Transilvania mountains , where all the houses where colored differently, very nice place). Hard woker. Great movie. You skipped the all singer part ???. Other great Liam Nisson movies are Rob Roy 1995 and Darkman 1990 which is an original superhero movie Sam Ramie made before he got the rights to do the Spiderman movies. Another great movie like this is the first Jack Reacher movie.

I keep saying throw Taken, John Wick, n the Equalizer in a flick n call it "Gun-Fu Hustle" or something. Movie would kill more Europeans than any world war or plague I'd say...

Also find it hard to care about the daughter , spoiled rich girl lying her ass off to manipulate her father to go on a vacay to Paris, got herself and her friend kidnapped... I just don't care if he finds her again.
I hate the first few seconds, you spoil a key reaction. I guess it works good with the algo, but I wish that moment wasn't spoiled. Whenever I click on your videos, I have to skip to 30 seconds to not have the moment spoiled.
12:36 - I'm having difficulty believing in such brothels on construction sites. There are dozens of men, that talk to each other during work and therefore every single person on the construction site would be aware of the brothel within the first week of operation. And after seeing the girls, even a guy with 2 brain cells will know that this is illegal and those women are drugged. Which makes all the "clients" rapists. Also any decent person on the crew will call the police immediately.
You should really do The Bourne Identity with Matt Damon ASAP. Similar style, intense non-stop action. The Bourne series came out years before Taken and The Equalizer and almost certainly influenced and provided inspiration for both. I love them all but the Bourne movies are best. 👌

The entire "construction site" was just a front - the "workers" were all members of the sex trafficking ring.
