I showed this video to a bunch of my buddies (shameless self-promotion and what-not) and my sons. I wanted to respond to the balance beam: hint: laminate; and to the backup bases: hint: series, not parallel; and to the "since the height doesn't matter" comment. This is a lot of fun. Good luck on round two. I'm rooting for you.
@tracybrodie4506 lmao! Yeah I have some surprise ideas of my own too! Round 2 ((if it works like it does in my head) it probably wont) is gonna be interesting lol
It was a very fun build! Getting back to the roots of a beginner base! I'm over the META (Most Effective Tactic Available) of the balance beam. I wish there were more options, that were equally as good. There's a couple of blocks that LOOK great, but the zombies don't see them as a pathway... whether I win or lose a challenge, it's all in good fun! Thank you! I appreciate the idea!!!
Honestly, i was worried about upsetting you for mentioning you name in a video. (I can mute the video in that section, IF it bothers you). I always try to credit the original idea. Ps. You win this round sir, but don't think this is over! I'm gonna beat your challenge, one way or another! Lol
You did really good. It shows that height makes a big difference in hoard bases. You would have done it if you went higher and moved your backup a little farther away I think? 🍻
That is PART of my plan for the next try... boost up the height of the base, readjust my base positionings, mess with their pathway a tiny bit... I may have a trick or 2 up my sleeve... lol
Eh brother your never making a bad video! Just evolving. Don't be hard on your self! There's no manual with life. It's a big guessing game in a world that is always changing!
Truer words were never spoken! I don't let anything get to me, I just go with the flow and enjoy the ride. If I fail at something, I learn something new. We learn nothing from our successes, and MASSIVE amounts from our failures. However, when I fail, I own it. No one's perfect, and I'm not pretending to be. A set back, is an opportunity to improve. Thank you for the compliment on the video!
would "Barbed wire" be considered a trap? I'd say, make your pole pathway (the poles) longer and put barbed wire on the poles. great for slowing them down and easier head shots. also, i use the .5 round pole for them to walk on. you must be careful of firing at the zombies with the pole in the picture, head shots only. the .5 pole is smaller and harder for the zombies to stay on.
@georgehadley9080 ohhhhhh i didn't think about that!!! Barbed wire!!!! And that's the thing, his comment said no traps or gimmicks... what is considered a trap? Could I have just sat in the center of a massivly thick wall of spikes? I guess they are called spike traps, so... probably not lol... but barb... hmmm... all they really do is slow the zombies down... I'm making a judgement call, barb is allowed lol!
Part of the problem here is that wood is weak enough that shotguns, ect, can destroy it. You really need a way to make sure you're not hitting your own blocks while still hosing t he zombies with bullets. I think that might be what destroyed some of the pathing blocks, though I'm not 100%
100% accurate! I actually think I did the final blow to one of the blocks that was protecting me lol... the scaffolding ladders are great at blocking cop spit, and the wedge pieces are great at pushing the zombies off the beam but also restrict your attack angle... I got a couple more ideas... I'm currently brainstorming some new ideas to try out.
Why not just make a 10 base long obstacle course. You start with the ramp, narrow it down til you reach your first "base". That fails, then you make it across the next pathway (input w/e beams, hatches, spikes you want) and continue on in a super long str8 path.
@Dolsey1 yeah, i was thinking about making just a single narrow pathway 1 block wide, with multiple hatches. Fight, then Fallback, fight then Fallback, fight then fallback... I thought that having multiple standalone bases would provide me time to reload, fix my health, ext... while the zombies navigate to the new base... my thought was to build the minimum amount of bases as possible. It is possible to achive the day 70 horde with wood... its just a matter of every detail being meticulously planned out. For me, it's all about fun. I don't want to make something that I know will work. I want to make something that I think SHOULD work. Lol

Thanks for the challenge! It needs improvements, but it was a lot of fun!!!!
That was very exciting. I hope other people think it makes good content. Thanks for being a great sport!

Ohhhh a challenge video... I'm gonna have to think of one for you!!! Great video!!!
I'm up for the challenge! I might not win, but I love being tested! Give me your worst!
Wow. It's pretty weird having your name mentioned in a youtube video. My gamer tag is Dadbro. Keep up the good work and I'll keep watching!
