I was at this game! Upper Mezzanine (green seats) right behind home plate. Great raucous crowd and great baseball. I went hoarse cheering for Gary to get a hit in the bottom of the 12th. As soon as Wally scored the winning run, centerfield opened up and the NYPD mounted unit caning charging in full speed toward the infield. Must have been about two dozen horses running in. The celebration in the parking lot at Shea afterward was legendary. I am a group with a banner that said “Solit Fingers My ASStros”. Great memories. We need to get beck to more playoff baseball during the day. Much more fun than at night. This game proves it.

I know he’s doing baseball here, but hearing the legendary Keith Jackson-- man does it take me back.... just hearing him reminds of me of a wonderful cold autumn morning in the fall and of a Saturday college football game. Sure takes me back. I just love his voice. The BEST

1:07:27 Wow re pitcher fielder switcheroo. Is a bit cheating by IBM as a pitcher has to be pulled from play on 2nd manager visit. One thing for sure, Rose's days as a player/manager was numbered #NL And for teams that could attempt placing P in field, crazy and the manager would be on a death wish if that was a regular practice😮 #MLBPA

The Mets may have been lucky there was no replay back then but so was Fred brocklander, because even after seeing the replay, he always stood by his call, even though he was wrong. These days, they'd force him to overturn it.

As an lifelong Astros fan, this team was very good, Dave Smith giving up the home run to Dykstra was the straw that broke the camels back, I can’t compare todays game to baseball 1986, the game has changed much, especially with how long pitchers go nowadays versus back then, yes pitchers had pitch counts back then but not like today where Starting pitchers rarely go past the 6th inning if they pitch 5 innings I’m surprised back then every starting pitcher pitched a minimum 6 innings and much of the time 7 if their team was ahead , also batting lineups back then were more strategic, ya had batters hit 4th or 5th if they were home run hitters even 6th, they would lead off if they were a base stealer or good at bunting, getting walks, nowadays any player hitting in any slot in the batting order can hit a home run at any position in the batting order more often, it was rare that a player hitting first threw third would hit a home run, yes it happened but not as often, I just think the game has changed so much that todays Major League Baseball ⚾️ is incomparable to baseball back then
