Adapted from three short stories by Maile Meloy, Certain Women navigates the subtle shifts in personal desire and social expectation that unsettle the lives of its characters: a lawyer (Laura Dern) forced to subdue a troubled client; a wife and mother (Michelle Williams) whose plans to construct her dream home reveal fissures in her marriage; and a night-school teacher (Kristen Stewart) who forms a tenuous bond with a lonely ranch hand (Lily Gladstone), whose longing for connection delivers an unexpected jolt of emotional immediacy.

Why do women think that they would be more respected and appreciated if they were men? Women, you'd be just as ignored, overlooked and disrespected if you were men. Especially when you need need to convince a group of people of something.

I'm a woman and that last line made me cringe so hard. I was like "is that true?". I don't think it is. Why is media obsessively trying to convince people of that lately?
