I’m so glad Lily Gladstone is now an Oscar nominee (probably winner). I saw this sweet, quiet little film at Sundance and she was far and away the best part.
you gotta see this scene tho in the context of the rest of the film. when i first watched it, i was screaming at my screen “Kristen! go with her! Don’t let her leave!”. i was such a mess. i can relate to that level of alienation and loneliness. just so well done. Kelly Reichardt is a got damn maestro
If she's not a lesbian then why would she not let her leave? If her character is straight, and only into men, then it would be weird that this chick hunted her down like a stalker.
I liked the movie but this story was by far the best of them. I wish a movie was done about these characters especially Jamie. I wanted to see more character development which meant more screen time.
Yes. It's based on a short story entitled "Travis, B." included in Maile Meloy's "Both Ways Is the Only Way I Want It." Lily Glastone captures the essence of its main character and director Kelly Reichardt gets to the deeper, universally relatable issue of loneliness in a story that's small in scope.

She was one of the most genuinely awkward characters I have ever seen on film.

I could hardly watch this scene.
I dont know, this film gives me the feeling that it wasn't enough, this story should be a little bit longer.
Is there a book?
