I missed out on the first release (and GX-40 prices were getting insane) so I've been thinking of picking this up but all other vids were not in English. Thanks! I'm hoping Bandai do more Renewals soon while keeping the price increase reasonable - this one's MSRP is roughly 15% more than the GX-40 which isn't too bad considering that one came out in 2008.
I just picked this up for ¥5,000 here in tokyo. Growing up in japan these shows were awesome. They ran from 6pm to 8pm something for everyone. The girls had candy candy the boys had grendizer. It was a Funtime to grow up in japan in the 70’s and 80’s. The TV giant robot thing died out in 1989, But I still cherish the memories. Now I’m back things are different Japan is still absolutely wonderful but I’m not a fan of the current anime. anime on local channels is all but disappeared replaced by news shows. A few light ones for little kids but that’s it.
@@robotcarnival1123I’m definitely going to grab these guys for sun Stop Motion animation 🎬📸🎞️ I’m sure they’re the closest thing we are gonna get to Mighty Orbots 😅‼️
I have a feeling that there is a sizable part of "Soul of Chogokin" fans who have no idea what the figure is from, but just like fancy combining robots... . . . . . Like me. I still have no idea what a GaoGaiGar is. But it sure as hell looks cool.
@@robotcarnival1123 Hi--Thanks for the review. I was wondering if you've been able to successfully disengage the shoulders. As you said, they seem real (too?) tight. Just wanted to know if you had any tips. Thanks!

Thank you for your comment! Really great to hear the perspective of someone who was there at the time.

Nice video. Just would have liked to see the accessories + the new weapons you dont get with the 40
Thank you for the review. Just ordered this as an "Amazon Warehouse" deal for 'dirt cheap'. Hope it's not broken or missing any parts, lol.
Definitely be extra careful with the shoulders on Sphinx when removing the arms from God Mars. It’s a real issue.
