    Don't know if I like this "interpretation," but if we're gonna go down this dark path, here's an even-darker theory (of my own) to chew on:
    You know that scene where the Wicked Queen transforms herself into the old hag & is going down the stairs to the dungeon, and she passes a skeleton reaching through the bars of his teeny-tiny cell for a jug (that had once presumably held water) that is placed *_just_* out of his reach?
    That skeleton...is Snow White's dad, the king! 😲

      No it's not I'm sorry that might be the huntsman though because she did kill the huntsman if you have read the book Mistress of all evil it literally has a scene where the evil queen literally sees her husband died and that was what causes her to become evil and also the fact that her father is the mirror so she just wants her father to call her pretty

    • @MrPGC137
      @MrPGC137 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@davidalicea6705 So, sorry, but the book to which you refer is nothing more than a modern-day retcon, written decades after the movie, and concocted as a result of modern-era Disney's revisionism and reluctance to deal with darker themes (not unlike the way they tried to make Maleficent a hero rather than a cool villainess, thereby ruining the character..) As such, it is therefore no more valid than my interpretation.
      Moreover, the skeleton had obviously been down there for a long, long time, a lot longer than could have been accounted for by the time since the huntsman's actions and the Queen's discovery that she'd been duped and her subsequent plot with the poison apple. (Or do you think corpses become skeletons in matters of mere days? You didn't think this through very thoroughly, did you?) Therefore, it couldn't be the huntsman, who'd probably long since taken off for parts unknown if he had any sense.
      So...no, nice try but you're going to have to do better than rely on a dumb after-the-fact revisionist retcon teen-novel to make your point.

      When the Brothers Grimm printed the story for the first time, it was Snow White's mother who was so jealous of her daughter's beauty and her daughter's relationship with her huspen that she took Snow White out into the woods and left her there.
      But people thought it was too brutal, because "no" biological mother would do anything so vicious to their own children.
      so when they printed the story for the second time, they had changed Snow White's mother into a stepmother.
      It really makes you wonder about all the other fairy tales, such as Little Red Riding Hood, which does not meet a wolf(the animal) and is not rescued by a hunter.

    A queen pricked her finger while sewing and several drops fell on to the snow, she wishes for a daughter with skin white as snow, lips red as blood and hair dark as ebony, the queen dies in childbirth.
    At seven years old the little princess gets a step mother who is vain with a magic mirror who declares the child the most fair, the queen task her huntsman to kill her, but he falls for her beauty and let's her escape and brings the heart of a deer to the queen in place of Snow Whites.
    The child finds herself at the home of seven dwarfs who after hearing her story decide to hide her....10 years pass before the queen ask her mirror who the fairest is with the mirror explaining that Snow White is still alive, more fair, and hiding with the dwarves.
    Three times the queen disguises herself and tries to kill her,
    1) a lace bodice (type of corset) that she ties around Snow White so tight she stops breathing, but the dwarves free her.
    2) she places a poisoned comb in her hair that seems to work, but again the dwarves remove it.
    3) the last time is with a poisoned apple that works completely even the dwarves can't save her and believe her dead, too beautiful to be buried they lay her in a glass coffin, soon a prince comes upon the scene and hears the tale from the dwarves and vows to take her body to rest at her father's castle, along the way while carrying the coffin a servant of the prince trips and almost loses he's balance, this causes the poisoned apple to dislodge and Snow White is awakened, the prince is amazed and overjoyed and declares his love and proposes to her, though surprised by the prince and his offer she accepts.
    The queen once again ask her mirror who the fairest in the land is, the mirror replies that the bride of the prince is more fair, the queen goes to see for herself who this bride is and is furious to see it is Snow White, she tries once again to kill her, but is stoped by the prince who then learns all she has done to his bride to be, as punishment the queen is forced to wear red hot iron slippers and dance to death at the wedding.

  • @dragon_slayer2026
    @dragon_slayer2026 3 ปีที่แล้ว +43

    If we're looking at the animals and dwarves and prince as figments of her imagination, then we could potentially expand that to the rest of the movie.
    Perhaps the queen wasn't really a witch, but that was all just Snow White's imaginings of the queen's actions and motivations. Maybe the queen just feared Snow White's lineage threatening her claim to the throne, but Snow White couldn't understand any of that, so imagined her as a witch who envied her beauty. The crone may have just been another assassin, but Snow White simply imagined her as the queen herself, and concocted the transformation.
    Once we start looking at part of the movie as hallucinations or imaginings without the movie explicitly telling us so, then it opens the door to the entire thing being similarly unreliable. Not that it's a bad thing, just another interesting aspect to think about.

      The Brothers Grimm collected stories together, but the original stories were passed down through via oral tradition.
      The Brothers Grimm didn't actually invent the stories themselves. A lot of folk tales actually existed as a means to warn children against certain behaviours.
      For example Hansel and Gretel teaches against taking candy from strangers.

The reason why the castle is in the clouds is because it’s supposed to be very far away. I think it’s an interesting theory but when I mentioned this on another video of the same theory people kept coming at me saying “ I’m stupid .” And to them I’m like did you even watch the movie? Though a bit of information some don't know about the Original Fairy Tale that I wonder influenced some of the choices in how to take the movie's direction during production. At the end of the original German version penned by the brothers Grimm, the wicked queen is fatally punished for trying to kill Snow White. It's the method she is punished by that is so strange "“ she is made to dance wearing a pair of red-hot iron shoes until she falls over dead. As well as the apple Snow White ate got lodge in her throat, this kept her from fully ingesting the poison, leaving her in a comma basically until while transporting the coffin for the prince, the Dwarfs dropped the coffin causing Snow White to spit out the apple.
    This was explained and shown in original writing in my German Language class as lot of the text we read for practice was all the old fairy tales that came from Germany

    THESE ARE FOLK TALES FOR KIDS IN EARLIER TIMES & OFTEN HAD A LIFE LESSON IN THEM

The pre-Grimm history of the tale is fascinating, especially the idea of the moral expressing the feminine virtues in contrast to what is undesirable. Good video.

    The Prince actually did come back for Snow White. When he did, the Queen captured him and locked him in the dungeon. He managed to escape, but by then Snow White was long gone (possibly she was already with the Dwarfs when he got captured) and so that's why he was "looking all over for her." The scenes were created but ultimately cut from the movie because it was felt there was no need to spend any of the run-time on him.

    In defense of the Evil Queen;
    Snow White suffered from some serious mental illness. She spent all her time by herself, talking to animals, and getting trained by 7 creepy old men.
    Snow White's stepmother did everything she could to get her daughter married off. If the Evil Queen had really wanted to kill Snow White, then why is the only cure for the poison apple 'true love first kiss'?? You would think that if she really wanted her dead, then she wouldn't have put in a resurrection clause! That proves that the Evil Queen cared. Even more, the Evil Queen sacrificed the last of her youth and beauty to try and get her bipolar step-daughter hooked up with a prince and financial security.
    The Evil Queen was a gawddamn hero! If Snow White were left to her own devices, she would have wasted all her opportunities and probably ended up knocked up with 7 little dwarf babies in an opium den.

    Boy, this one is right up there with the theory that the dwarves are the seven stages of drug addiction.
    But aside from that, I've been thinking on what the moral of the story is. Most of these fairy tales were intended to teach morals or life lessons, especially the Victorian retellings of the Grimm tales. But thinking on the story of Snow White again, I can't help but feel the moral of the story isn't for little kids (not directly anyway), but rather for the mothers. Think about it, most fairy tales teach that if you do something bad, bad things will happen to you, so don't do those bad things. Snow White is a complete innocent, one that's saved at the end of the story. But the Queen, she's not innocent. She's jealous of a younger woman, and does some horrid things to keep ahold of her title as the most beautiful woman in the land. She goes so far she turns herself into a hideous hag just to kill the younger woman, and in the end she's killed for it. The lesson of Snow White is that beauty always fades, and shouldn't let jealousy consume you.

    • @1MikuFan

      I think that’s one of the messages of the Movie. The transformation of the Queen to a hag, literally showed us the true ugliness of the Queen’s heart/soul. This is a complete foil to the heart/soul of Snow White. Ever noticed how as the Queen was about to crush the drawfs to death? Ironically, she is struck off the cliff by lightning and crushed by that very same boulder. As if some sort of divinity was watching and punished her on the spot. This was instant karma. In the end, Snow won and the Queen lost.
