Took my 955 to Walcott yesterday to have my handle put on the screen. Got home the took my cb channels out. Went back this morning. Denied it ever had cb mod. Called me a lier.. They will never get a penny from me again. Bunch of missfits. If they had aREAL tech. He should have checked it. Before giving it back. The ONLY reason I ever let them touch my radio cause I live close to them. Didn't think they could screw that up. Being in c. B. And ham radio since 65. I wouldn't let them change a light bulb in my flash light
Holy moly. Well I can definitely say it was on Walcotts behalf. Some times hooking the radio up to the PC software like in your instance just changing the handle on the screen can actually lead to deleting the programmed frequencies. This is a technical issue on Strykers software which has not been fixed yet and does not always occur while using the software. I had the same issue happen here to one of my customers radios, but I made sure I checked everything out before shipping. 73

The Stryker software isn’t up to par right now, I couldn’t use it either even after following Strykers instructions with the data file. Good work on the radio though brother. 73
Well brother, I can’t work any other way. Clean up after all work and any projects at the end of each session. Note the fact the wifey demands me to dust as well, she said if I want total control get a basement or a garage lmao 🤣
You did a step wrong. you open the file and WRITE to radio, not read. Never read first when sorting this issue. The cause of this is a corrupt channel offset value in eeprom. It's because the integers differ in signedness... and the software is expecting one type and getting the other. You have to load the file and then immediately write the data in that file. If you read first then you step on the file you have. The other way to fix it is to find the channel with the offset and turn the coarse clarifier to re-center that memory location. (which is why simply writing a clean file with zeroed offsets is faster and easier) Cheers.

Just a heads-up from my experience and something i noticed but the data cable for my mrk 1 Stryker does not work on my mrk2 Stryker.. i have no idea why that would be.. i thought the data cable would be the same for both models 1 & 2.. Unless my laptop has initialised a preference between the two like choosing one over the other.. weird i know but i don't know enough about computers to fathom that out.. 🤷🏼♂️
I'm in need of a SWR meter. I have on the way 955v2 and 703 that should be here on Tuesday. Would you recommend that MFJ-826B, are they accurate out of the box? I'm concerned about letting smoke out of the 703. I'm open to anything you would suggest - thanks
Just make sure that Stryker isn’t peaking over 50 watts or you will burn up the amplifier. As for the meter yes it is a decent inline reference for what you need. 73

I’ve shown my face in some of my other videos before lol. Now, as for the 959G at almost 300 bucks just ain’t worth it in my opinion.

Input and output jacks using a 3.8mm stereo cable.

Not a cable issue here, but there is a few that work with even the new Strykers including the TYT, and the President Lincoln data cable.
The MK1 is completely different to MK2 therefore the cable and programming will also be different
