      Hope you like it! I appreciate your support very much. This bike is really cool and usable. I did the 25mph top speed button sequence and it's much easier to use in the streets now.

    Glad to see you review on this even though it is basically a MtB site! I looking for a light weight bike (under 45 lbs) for 60/40 use on streets & gravel. This T1 ST looks like would fill the bill well as is & perhaps with a slightly wider tire, and Redshift StopShok seat post and stem.
    If it isn't too far out of your wheelhouse, I 'd love to see you're thoughts in this compared to an Aventon Solera .2 & Propella C9 V2 for the type of use I've described.

    Very nice! That looks almost identical to my red Trek FX + E bike, which I absolutely love. I stripped off the fenders, upgraded to Shimano XT, a Rockshox Judy fork and knobby tires. Also the battery extender. We ride full assist and it was only getting 15 miles.

      As I keep using it, it impresses me more. I have it now to a top assist level of 25mph and it's much more usable now.

    Nice review, thanks! Seriously considering one of these bikes. Do you know if you could fit some wider tires on there - like maybe some 50mm instead of the standard 40mm? Looks like there may be some room between the tires and frame.

    Thank you Francis, I loved this review. Just had a question on the range. The website has this bike (the ST) at 52 miles. The regular Thunder has a range of 70 miles. The difference in price is about $450. In your opinion is the 18 mile difference worth the extra dough? seems a bit steep. Love your videos!!

    • @EMTBReview
      @EMTBReview  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't think that's worth the difference. The regular Thunder has extra app functionality that has more customization options.
      The Thunder design is a little odd too and is not as streamlined.

    You can bump it up to class 3 ebike by just holding the light button down for 20 seconds . make sure the bike is on.

    • @EMTBReview
      @EMTBReview  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Step 1: Keep the bike turned on.
      Step 2: Press and hold the "light" button for the 20S, and the purple light of the Control Panel will flash for 5S, which means the speed limits had been unlock successfully.

      No definitely not. I would recommend an Aventon Level.2 alnk.to/5F9FWfI

    That’s a clean looking bike. So many of the commuter bikes look kind of awful, yes, they serve a purpose, but they just scream ‘cheap Chinese import’. If you told me this was a specialized, or something similar, I’d believe you as it looks really nice.

    The battery IS removable. Its not an easy pop out. Takes multiple steps.

  • @MrPerrisC

    No-one should be buying a bike with non removeable battery, they all degrade in charge cycles, you'll need a brand new bike in two years.
    The motor is pathetic, there is no throttle control, there are no fenders, this is NOT an inexpensive bike by any measure

      Battery is replaceable. Just not in the sense of a quick release battery. They do have instructions on their site for this. I am curious to know what you think is an affordable option to this that is not junk. Please do share. Also make sure it's around the same weight lol. It'd actually be much appreciated since my wife is looking for one right now. This was the most affordable one I could find with decent reviews that doesn't weigh above 40lbs.

      @MrPerrisC ปีที่แล้ว

      @@designbat9089
      Frankly, didn't know the battery's replaceable, do you know how ling that will take?
      Look at schwin for weight and far lower pricing, the switch probably fits the bill too, haven't looked into that
      It'd be better to have quick release so you can just take the battery for charging
      My discover1 same company, better motor, has throttle, has replaceable battery no instructions needed
      I'm almost 70, two replaced hips, heed to knees, no problem riding discover with no motor, even from stopped in 7th gear
      The aventon pace is ligher, I would have gotten that instead of discover but my local bike shop carried the discover, went with that
      I have no use for fat tires and don't get the fetish, I'll eventually have standard width tires swapped in
      It does way substiatially more,, bigger motor and battery, I think it's 65 lbs, I'll save about 10 lbs I think going to standard width wheels.
      I'm thinking about swapping the front wheel to standard width for the ease of it, if I like that I'll have a custom wheel built around the motor hub
      Have you looked at the switch or schwin for your wife?
