Why is the US importing FOOD in the first place? We haveenough farmers to EXPORT food (which we also do to the tune of billions of dollars) and that includes produce. We cry about losing the US middle class while cravenly flooding the US with foreign products we ALSO produce here. US farmers should be feeding American customers.
1. US Farmers can't feed America cause the environmentalists don't want them to fuel their tractors or fertilize their crops! 2. US Farmers were told that sludge was safe, now they aren't allowed to grow crops on that land. 3. 2 years ago, the US imported $16B in food. Last year we imported $45B in food. 4. TX is running out of water and they can't even grow rice or sugarcane anymore. 5. China is Buying food production. 6. This year's heat wave and droughts haven't even covered how it affected crops. I'll tell you how it affected my crops! The heat came high and early and a lot just bolted. Some grew but was bitter from the high heat. Couldn't pump enough water to it. Plants stayed alive but didn't make. My potatoes were soft from the heat. Tried planting beans later for a 2nd crop and it was still in the 90's when we were supposed to plant fall crops. Corn didn't sprout at all. Blackeyed peas, which are normally heat and drought resistant gave some but gave up the ghost. I lost my fruit. Peaches cooked on the tree before they were fully ripe. Apples dropped. Now, take all of that and apply it to other areas that didn't get as much rain as we did and did not have any shadecloth at all.
And the ILA workers are just as selfish with the %77 percent raise. Going to make us all suffer so im guessing that's better right you and me will now see even higher prices!!
Some of the highest paid workers in virginia and they're saying they want a 77% increase. What b.s. I'm a crane operator in a steel mill and I make 26.50 an hour. Let me come work and let them stay out on strike.
If u were a business owner u would not say profit over people you should be lucky to even have a job with benefits and still a good raise offered shame on you for being ungrateful. God bless usa.
My fruit cellar is fully stocked from the ptoduce i grew this year, Maybe learn to be more self efficient and less reliant on grocery stores to survive.
Way to go media. The more you release this panic porn, then the more you’ll cause the sheep to panic.
Lol you can't deny that usa has big issues in all aspects
Why purchase fresh fruits and vegetables for outside countries when we are perfectly capable of growing or own in the USA.
Yes. We can also grow our own.
Exactly !
The irony that his sign reads "profit over people is unacceptable".
Nothing like good old greed. This is America after all.
Grocery chains producing panic buying...I'm not sure but 95% of the population could benefit from missing a few meals.
😅
😂😂😂😂
😂🤣😂 !! , you made my day , with that one…..🙏 !
They are all so cute with the matching colors, must have been expensive 🤷♂️
Our potato, onion, and squash harvest was good on the homestead this year. We promise to stay out of stores until next spring.

If American consumers paid a fair price for domestic produce, there would be no need to import food, but consumers like it cheap.
The food we grow in the USA cant alone support the demand of the nation. That’s why imports are needed

Still no contract deal, the U.S. Maritime Association is selfish to these ILA workers

Automation maybe an issue but. They already make good money in comparison with others.
Crane operators making over $300,000 a year. With a 77% wage increase over 6 years they would make over 1/2 million a year.
The union should be locked out...I'm sure there are PLENTY of people willing to do their jobs for half their wages...
Seafood, coffee, and produce from outside the U.S. will spoil. Bananas may cost $20 per bunch, and frozen seafood will defrost.
People can survive without fresh produce
Canneries can't! They also can't make it without aluminum cans!
Guess who people will take their aggression out on when there is
Guess who needs to learn how to compose a coherent sentence.

Time to roll out the AI and Robots
Funny how the produce said it was a product from the USA. Why would that be imported from another country?

Fresh produce? From where?
