    Having us preemptively set up debugging tools during the tutorial is really a good idea. Giving us the tools to better understand why things might not work a first.
    Thank you for all the effort you put in your videos

    hello Dilmer. Thanks for all the videos. At 1:37 where did you get that prefab folder? I don't have it in my project or when I downloaded the oculus integration.
    I'm still new and learning all the basics and I have a project to submit soon. Thanks for your help!

      I'd love to know if we can access the "SceneOptionsUI" prefab. It's so cool. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

    I was stuck for a long time with the problem where my raycasts were blocking the entire space but your solution to use box collider helped me! Thank you very much for making such helpful content!

    I have a question is there anyway where we can have interaction with 3D as well as 2D Gameobjects using oculus integration plugin only?

    Hi Dilmer, I'm quite new to Unity and want to create a simple UI canvas with a button that has an on click event. I followed the tutorial and created the canvas. After that I wanted to add a button to it, yet it is not interactable. Which components do I have to add, so that it will be clickable. Btw thanks for the video! I really like the Interaction SDK.

    • @dilmerv
      @dilmerv  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the info, you need to add the following components:
      1- Add a canvas which automatically adds an Event System, then remove the default "Standalone Input Module" and add a "Pointable Canvas Module"
      2- Go to your Canvas and add a "Pointable Canvas" component then associate your canvas with the Canvas option within your "Pointable Canvas"
      3- Add a "Ray Interactable" to your canvas
      4- Add a collider as shown on the video as well as a plane surface and associate them with your "Ray Interactable" component.
      Also you will need RayInteractors for either your left or right hand, this video walks you through that process:

      Let me know if you have other questions and thanks for watching !

      @@dilmerv Thanks for your answer. I think I didn't describe the situation enough.
      I followed the steps and can actually interact with the canvas itself. Yet, when I add a button to the canvas I'm unable to use the onClick component from the button. It just does nothing, At the moment I click the canvas as a whole to execute my event.
      I thought there might be components that have to be added to the button so that it works.

      @@MaceKaktus1 Ohhhh so now I solved it. I dont know if you had the same issue, but somehow I had another canvas by mistake on the gameobject that contained the button and so the interaction did not apply on the button that I wanted to use. Hope this helps

      @@simons3943 Still have the problem, but I decided to interact with the Canvas as a whole. It works just finde for the work Im doing. Thanks for your answer.

    Hello, thank you for making such a create content about how things get implemented in VR, however, I am having trouble lately with UI, since the Menu UI is often blocked by the objects in the scene, and I wonder if there are solutions for this.

    • @thesnippa_x_killa5725
      @thesnippa_x_killa5725 ปีที่แล้ว

      Create a custom script that will make the instantiated objects non ray interactable, by drawing a line between player and the ui element. When the line gets blocked you will turn of the blocks that enter the collider.

    • @jimmychen0123
      @jimmychen0123 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thesnippa_x_killa5725 Hey thanks for the approach, however, this approach would cause other issues such as users would accidentally see the environment behind the wall for instance, and this is something I don't want it happens.

      @@dilmerv Hey, I still can't get it to work. I tried also a few people who have graduated already (I am 3rd year student) but still can't get it to work. Unity recognizes the button because I can select it, but when I try to pinch so I can click on the button, it just like my gizmos pointer passes through it. I would appreciate if you can point me to a direction of why this still isn't working for me

    @dilmerv Can you help? When deleting Standalone Input Module and adding the Pointable Canvas Module to the Event System the TMP input field stops allowing keyboard entry to the input field. I tried using the Input System UI Input Module with the Pointable Canvas Module, but it does the same thing. Also, when I disable the Pointable Canvas Module the Keyboard entry to the TMP input field start working again. I am Running Unity 2021.3.16f1. Thanks 😀
