M Divya Bajirao n Mastani were real but their love story is a fiction, an imagination only. Bajirao of History n fiction are totally different. Bajirao helped Chhatrasal with the motive that he wanted to expand Maratha kingdom in the north with his eye on Delhi n so he wanted unity of all Hindu kingdoms of north India. In return, he negotiated with Chhatrasal n got Zansi, the biggest province of Bundelkhand n annexed it to Maratha territory. Chhatrasal thaught Bajirao was able man for his daughter n so requested Bajirao to marry her. So this was a purely political marriage n this is hailed by many historians also. In fiction, ( let it be any marathi drama, serial or novel), Mastani is always shown as 'other woman' who came to Pune in search of Bajirao n then the love story begins. All these things that Mastani married his dagger, she was a skilled warrier (there is no historic document available where it is mentioned that any person called Mastani ever faught any war), she saved Bajirao's life, Bajirao neglected his wife Kashi after Mastani's arrival ( Kashi got pregnant thrice between 1728-1735 against Mastani's one turn if you check the history) are all imagination. Marriage of a brahmin man with a muslim woman of Irani origin was a fantasy for the then Marathi community. This gave rise to love story. The only truth is that Mastani was not accepted by community, family n even political fraternity exept Bajirao himself n his wife Kashi.

Very disappointed. Firstly this is not Bajirao's hometown, this is his father-in- law's hometown so this is just where Mastani lived before she got married to Bajirao 2nd. Secondly I thought your cousin who apparently "knows" history is going to talk about the actual facts but she ended up saying "aaplogon ne movie to dekhi hui hai kaise Mastani Bajirao se mili". Well, the story in the movie is false and fictional. They took the actual story and twisted it in a million ways like most of the Bollywood historical dramas are. Leaving the 100 lies behind the main pount is that Mastani and Bajirao DIDN'T FALL IN LOVE. They got married for political reasons. Nobody cheated Kashibai and Mastani wasn't a homewrecker. You had a chance to say it out loud and search a little bit but you obviously didn't care about real history, just believed the movie and shared the same made up story line.

Although he didn’t cheat kashi cause she accepted their affair plus kashi was crippled! That scene dancing together was just cringe and we ourselves took an objection on that. Hi....it is the most beautiful story of love...and the evils of strong traditional culture.....in those days child marriage was a prominent cultural practice......Bajirao first marriage took place when he was around 10 to 12 years.....his 1st wife was around 6 to 7 years.....but when he grew up he falls in love with the women her outstanding warfare tactics and qualities were out of his son heart.....infact they were soul mates.....the movie don't show those things....because they need commercial success....look at the deleted scenes of Barirao Mastany and you will see the child marriage scene....which was arranged for his younger brother....that scan was wanted deleted.....if that was to be included the movie should not be a hit....

Very disappointed.
Firstly this is not Bajirao's hometown, this is his father-in- law's hometown so this is just where Mastani lived before she got married to Bajirao 2nd. Secondly I thought your cousin who apparently "knows" history is going to talk about the actual facts but she ended up saying "aaplogon ne movie to dekhi hui hai kaise Mastani Bajirao se mili".
Well, the story in the movie is false and fictional. They took the actual story and twisted it in a million ways like most of the Bollywood historical dramas are. Leaving the 100 lies behind the main pount is that Mastani and Bajirao DIDN'T FALL IN LOVE. They got married for political reasons. Nobody cheated Kashibai and Mastani wasn't a homewrecker. You had a chance to say it out loud and search a little bit but you obviously didn't care about real history, just believed the movie and shared the same made up story line.

Hi....it is the most beautiful story of love...and the evils of strong traditional culture.....in those days child marriage was a prominent cultural practice......Bajirao first marriage took place when he was around 10 to 12 years.....his 1st wife was around 6 to 7 years.....but when he grew up he falls in love with the women her outstanding warfare tactics and qualities were out of his son heart.....infact they were soul mates.....the movie don't show those things....because they need commercial success....look at the deleted scenes of Barirao Mastany and you will see the child marriage scene....which was arranged for his younger brother....that scan was wanted deleted.....if that was to be included the movie should not be a hit....
