I bought the DVD back then 😍 Just found out today it was available in HD on TH-cam and couldn't resist watch it again for what must be the tenth time... Buying "Much against everyone's advice" in a (now closed) music store in Kortrijk in 1998 when I was 16 (22 years ago 😱) was probably the best musical purchase of my life... My tastes in music evolved as Soulwax evolved and grew from rock to electro-rock to electro to... everything actually. I owe these guys so much unforgetable memories and moments shared with friends (parties in my student bedroom listening to StuBru and Radio Soulwax, live concerts and dj sets in Rock Werchter, Soulwaxmas in Gent, Hasselt and London, Pukkelpop, Ronquieres last summer,...), I will never be able to thank them enough. You guys really rocked my life 🙏
I saw them live at dour this summer. Guys you are always 5 years in the future. It's incredible how much you gave to the electronic music these 10 last years. Thank you for that.
1St Time that 'Part of the weekend Never Dies' was showed to the world was in Portugal, in São Jorge Cinema (Built in 1946!), saw the Doc seated right next to the Dewaele Brothers! At the end, we went to Lux Club to saw Soulwax Live! Another lifetime experience...
You can tell that after a few weeks of the tour they were exhausted of playing the same set and then a dj set afterwards... i guess their passion became a job at the end... i hope you guys learned the lesson and eventually come back tour with more freedom and not too serious...
LOVE this doc, love these guys. The bit at 56 minutes says the most to me now. You can't E all the time, unfortunately. Life and biology catches up. This doc is primarily brilliant music, and the capture of a scene I loved perfectly, but the best thing about it is how it shows what it's like when the party is no longer a party for you. That 56 minute bit is perfect. And the earlier one when one of the bros is just looking at the camera, jaded, going WTF when a bunch of people are dancing and chewing their faces off behind him. The cool thing about these guys is despite that they went on to make another great album and more great remixes and will hopefully be a James Murphy+ and make more good music well into middle age. They just so good.
nu-nu-rave? It is unlikely that this phenomenon will happen again. Then many talented producers gathered at one right time + their music coincided with the mood of a generation and then it was easier to get good druqs.
I have this on DVD and I love watching it with the TIGA commentary on, lol. Also if you can, listen to Tiga's podcast "THE LAST PARTY ON EARTH" with Soulwax. So fun listening to old friends reminisce and shoot the shit with one another. This is one of my favorite docs of all time. I highly recommend getting the DVD if you love Soulwax.
So happy I got to see the perform 3 times in 2016. Saw them at "A CLUB CALLED RHONDA" in Los Angeles, and then twice at Coachella. They had their own tent called Despacio which they did an amazing tribute to Prince (Prince died a day before Coachella started) and also played in the Sahara as 2ManyDJS!
наконец понял различия между 2manydj, Soulwax и Radio Soulwax) и так приятно видеть здесь Boys Noize, Vitalic, Justice, Klaxons, LCD soundsystem, Tiga, So Me, Busy P, Digitalism (наверное еще кто-то не узнал)
For Halloween I’m dressing as a zombie raver with ‘Part of the weekend....... Never dies’ on a t shirt. (like what I did there) We have the Stanton warriors and Plump Djs booked to play at our tiny little pub!!! It’s gonna be awesome, I need a paper bag....
They deffo need to do another documentary, they've been doing some crazy shit with their label DEEWEE since. And i'd love them to talk about their GTA 5 stuff, I imagine it's main way Gen Z audience found them
Where’s the videos with the divide parts that were only your performances? You guys need to upload that yourselves. You don’t understand that was some of the best time of our lives seeing your shows in the late 2000s. Was my only way to at least capture part of the feeling of that era.
Faaaack... Recuerdo esos viejos tiempos, muy buenos eventos, toda esa escena de músicos llevaban siempre a la perdición y terminabas hecho mierda quisieras o no...
2023 we have to bring these vibes back to the world.
What a golden age that was. I mean, Tiga, James Murphy, Nancy Whang, Klaxons, Justice all in the same rockumentary, that's insane.
You missed Erol :)
Oh yeah, a simpler, exciting time
and lcd soundsystem
💯💯💯
Well said, superb 👌
That's me in the video at 24:54!
You fucking legend
Look at you.
Grandissimo !!!!!

oh, 2008.
Simpler time.
The fallout of the 2008 market crash, and rise of New Sincerity / SJWs in the 2010s made it a lot harder to have fun like this.
@@seanwieland9763 I dont think SJWs are ruining fun for you, it sounds like you became more miserable yourself
First day of 2022 and i'm watching this again for the 9th time. Timeless classic.
The people in these comments are good people
I'm good.

Poor Digitalism. They never did finish that remix.
This is still so FUCKING incredible. Thank you guys
I still watch this days by days!
Thank you so much for this...one of my favorite films that gives me hope that someday music will reach another golden age someday
nu-nu-rave? It is unlikely that this phenomenon will happen again. Then many talented producers gathered at one right time + their music coincided with the mood of a generation and then it was easier to get good druqs.
My heart aches when i watch this over again and then go back to reality with all this trap-shit on the radio

Anyone know the track that is mixed in 52:07 until 52:30 ?
I have always thought it was a distorted version of The Sound of the Big Babou by Laurent Garnier. Could be wrong…
