River was so excited and happy for Kevin Kline
He is the best thing in the film, he really deserve the oscar
I watched A Fish Called Wanda for the first time recently and loved it. Kevin Klein was hysterical in it and I vaguely remembered that he won an Oscar for it, I figured he HAD to have won so I looked it up to confirm. Very well deserved win.
I totally love and respect River, but what gets me the most is the fact, that he didn't get even a nomination for Idaho! I never saw more intense acting performance then his in MOPI. It was honestly the most moving, heartbreaking and believable performance of all times for me. And I think that Kevin Kline was great in Fish Called Wanda and deserved it so I don't have any regrets on that. Only the Idaho - it was really underrated at that time and Keanu's performance too. Not to mention River's.
Such a deserved win! Isn't it CRAZY to know that Kevin Kline is the only one of these nominees still alive!
River Phoenix.... I'll never forget him...
River starred with Kevin Kline in I Love You to Death, so I wouldn't doubt it if they were friends. That's one of the greatest comedies of all time!
Kevin Kline was great, but River Pheonix was unforgettable in "Running on Empty." The scene at night with his girlfriend was as good as it gets.
I'm here to see River, how nice to see him here, thank you for posting
I'm here to see Kevin. Well deserved Oscar and classy guy!
Don't call him stupid!
...and it was 30 years ago. How ironic it it. I miss so much the 80s. Oscars was so much fun to watch with all these class actors.
RIP Sean Connery and Roger Moore!!!
"There's a lot of Brits here tonight. It's scary." 😂😁 Great seeing Kevin Kline win his Oscar for a truly, hilarious role in "A Fish called Wanda." RIP to Sir Sean Connery, Sir Roger Moore, and River Phoenix. 🙏🙏🙏
Kevin Kline is one Awesome actor!
Sad to think that Kevin Kline is the only one of the nominees left alive😢
River would definitely have won a Oscar. Truly unique and amazingly talented.
This was River Phoenix's only Oscar nod for "Running on Empty" but lost anyway.
If River had not died at a young age, it is clear that he would have won an Oscar, he was an amazing actor
@@barbara8756 He deserves it so much.
@@barbara8756 "I Just Couldn't Say No" - Alabama (Spring/Summer 1997).
Just watched A Fish Called Wanda he was so hilarious 😂 very well-deserved Oscar
RIP Roger Moore
RIP Sean Connery
Kevin Kline deserve the Oscar for best supporting actor his performance was fantastic
i came here for river and i rly wish he was still alive to see his brothers' success (and his sisters). he was so young and talented and pure and he deserved a long happy life. he would've won many great awards by now its just sad to see such a young talent die so young he had so much ahead of him ): may he rest in peace
What a great moment for Kevin Kline, with 3 Greats behind him and he is holding his Oscar and they follow him off stage. That is a High. He deserved it. He is great in Soap Dish.
I’m so happy to see some people here loving river Phoenix still and that we all remember him
River was truly happy for kevin kline River was so excited that was so sweet. And i belive that Heart did have to hold River back or he would have jumped on stage. River truly put others before himself
Its interesting to note that Dean Stockwell and River Phoenix were up against each other, both having been child actors, though Stockwell survived and rose above all of the emotional turmoil that afflicts young actors whereas Phoenix wasn't so lucky.
that's something i've been wondering about for a long time: the fact that, apart from two brief sabbaticals, stockwell managed to remain very prolific throughout his career. rip to both.
i'm actually the person who went to the Oscars channel and requested this clip to be put up...so thank me! :)
There is too much awesome in this video.
There is too much "overratedness" in this video. River, Kline, Michael Caine, Sean Connery, Roger Moore. The all time overrated brits. Sweet god.
Kline is epic in this, and his win was deserved. A River Phoenix win would've been fine, too, imo. He was that good.
True
Gosh, I love his voice!! He could read to me all day!!
At that time, River Phoenix and Kevin Kline are filming I Love You To Death together. A great movie including ensemble cast : Tracey Ullman, Joan Plowright, William Hurt and Keanu Reeves.
My favorite part was at 3:11-3:17 when Kevin said "There's a lot of Brits here tonight... scary"
It’s so nice seeing Meg Ryan’s original face again!
HAHA the clapping sounds like rain it's so badly timed
