Raking & Square Baling Orchardgrass Hay

Welcome back to Two Farm Boys! In this video, we cut, rake, bale, and pick up some orchardgrass hay with my friends Hayden and Daniel. This is footage from First Cutting 2023. Enjoy!
Our tractors and equipment in this video are a John Deere 4105 compact / utility tractor, Kubota M9540 tractor, a CCM 165 drum mower, a New Holland 56 bar rake, a New Holland 271 square baler, a Chevy K2500 7.4L 5-speed, and a Big Tex 14GN 25ft trailer.

Nice video! Looks like you caught that orchardgrass at a good time. Maybe I’m just missing it in descriptions, but where are you farming?
I started out dropping bales just like that, and miss the field memories of picking up/stacking. These days it’s “meet me at the barn to unload the kicker wagons” - but looks like you guys were having a good time, and it shows.

Thank you. We caught it a little on the late side but it turned out okay. We're in central Virginia. It's hard for us to use kicker wagons here because of how small the fields are and how far our lease property is from the farm. Everything has to be very mobile. But it does make for some good memories! Thanks for watching! - Everett
