Watching from the UK. I have only been watching Dr Shabir Ali for the last few days as I came to know about this channel for only few days and Alhamdulillah I am immensely benefitting from Dr Shabir Ali's knowledge and wisdom. May Allah SWT increase him in knowledge and grant him long span and grant him great rewards for his good deeds and same to the host.

When a hadith says "_____ will be equal to hajj" or similar, I always figured it means the minimum reward for hajj, but most people who perform hajj would get more than the minimum for hajj.

There are so many of these types of hadiths existing in the hadith books - great rewards for small deeds and huge punishment for avoiding or delaying small commandments. These doesn’t make any sense for even a minimum sensible person.

The Quran says that the prophet Muhammad didn't know the future (6:50) and it also says that the prophet did not know what will happen to himself or what will happen to anyone else (46:9). He could not promise anyone that if they did something how they would be rewarded or punished. Only Allah subhanahu watala can judge and determine what rewards or punishments a person will receive.
    6:50
    50. Say, “I do not say to you that I possess the treasuries of God, nor do I know the future, nor do I say to you that I am an angel. I only follow what is inspired to me.” Say, “Are the blind and the seeing alike? Do you not think?”
    46:9
    9. Say, “I am not different from the other messengers; and I do not know what will be done with me, or with you. I only follow what is inspired in me, and I am only a clear warner.”

Indeed, a letter in the Koran, which consists of 30 verses, can intercede for its readers until their sins are forgiven. Namely, the letter Tabarakal lafzi bi yadihil mulku (Al-Mulk). (HR. Tirmidhi: V/164)

Having set quite a low bar in this series you've surprisingly managed to hit a new low point. The underlying premise of this entire video is the assumption that you're able to independently judge the fairness of God's rewards/punishments for certain actions.
Shabir Ally's opinion isn't a valid source of religion. This video is a waste of time.

    • @hassanabdur-rahman1559

Your ideas are not based on the Quran. The Quran is the only true religious authority in Islam. Hadiths are man made fabrications that were attributed to the prophet. The prophet never said any of those things that Bukhari and the others claim. Hadiths were made in order to get the Muslims to abandon reading the Quran for guidance and answers to questions.

What absurd calculations of good deeds when the Bible teaches us that we fall far short of God's righteous standards. All who trust in their own good deeds will be shown for what they are on the Day of Judgment. You must put your faith in Jesus' righteousness and his sacrifice for your sake, it is the only hope for sinners.

No we dont put our trust in good deeds, we put our trust in God forgiving our shortcomings and our sins, that is His promise to us in the Quran, nor do we need God to die on a cross to forgive us, why do we do good deeds ? Simple, when the intention is to please God/Allah it brings us closer to Him and His forgiveness. Muslims dont take out a calculator and count how many rewards they are gona get on the day of judgement for good deeds done here, the mention of rewards is simply a way to motivate us to keep on going when life's day to day struggles are getting us down

If Islam is true, then show me Dhul Qarnayn's wall, the stones that pelted the people of the elephant, or any archaeology that supports Mecca existed back to the days of Abraham. No truth claims made in the Quran are true. It is just a fabrication supported by a narrative of questionable validity.
