When singers record the studio versions of their songs (the ones which go to the album) they do multiple takes. They record multiple parts of the song separately and use the best ones. So "one take" in this case means it's a continuous recording, without cuts, like a singer would do in a live performance.
You are gonna freaking love Courtney LaPlante and Spiritbox. That is made from something unfamiliar to this earth. Along with Tatiana Shmailyuk from the band Jinjer. These women throw it down hard dude.
You should check out they Holy Roller song and Rule of Nines, those are killer, also i recomend to check out band Jinjer, cuz vocalist is a beauty demon :D
She’s amazing, you should react to her one take video of their song rules of nine is awesome. Their music video for their songs blessed be, and holy roller are awesome too
Spiritbox The Mara Effect live at silverside sound - pure eargasm for 16 minutes straight. Also it really shows her BIG range. The Beauty of Suffering one take. Holy roller one take. Oh and... Courtney is a goddess 💙
this was a few takes for her, but i feel like Courtney is a perfectionist so i'm sure it's amazing everytime XD *sidenote* it probably doesn't hurt her voice because it's a technique that she's perfected
I realize I was here yesterday and said Rule of Nines one take, but I loved your reaction so much that I'm back again. And the Holy Roller one take is actually bananas.
One takes are different from recorded versions in that they happen start to finish all at once. In a studio, you’ll do it part by part, seperating harsh and clean vocals into seperate tracks, and most times recording every part several times and picking the best of each individual part.
One take means it’s all done in one go, similar to how it would be live. No cuts no edits, just singing to song. This is a song off of her bands album.
You should react to some jinjer if you liked this, Ukrainian band, shes done some one take performances that are amazing also, pisces is a good place to start if you like the singing parts
Also could check out these bands Architects All that remains Bullet for my valentine Pierce the veil Black veil brides Bring me the horizon Kill switch engage I prevail Asking Alexandria Falling in reverse (metalcore early stuff but also like raprock/metal) While she sleeps Wage war Bad omens Beartooth
So if you're screaming correctly it isn't going to hurt you. It may tire out some muscles in your throat a bit because you don't normally use the same muscles talking as you do screaming, but if you're screaming correctly you're not actually putting that much force through your throat and it's not all that loud. That being said, it is really hard to go from clean vocals to good fry screaming without messing up and doing something that is a little bit painful to your throat. So this is REALLY impressive, especially the end bit.
Screaming and harsh vocals actually do not hurt your throat if you're doing it correctly! Source: Myself, someone who did it incorrectly for a long time. If you are starting to dig this sort of metal, female fronted mixed vocals, I highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend Melissa Bonny's band Ad Infinitum. "Marching On Versailles" from their first album is a great introduction to an amazing 10/10 band!
Just a personal pet peeve that you can totally ignore, but these vocals would be a lot closer to "death metal" rather than "screamo." Screamo is a genre more indicative to the crossover of emo and hardcore music that was super big in the 2000s (ie. alexisonfire, Thursday, etc), whereas Spiritbox is more pop meets progressive death metal/metalcore. Again, totally just a pet peeve of mine, but harsh vocals =/= screamo. Otherwise I've been really digging your content! Super fun reactions and your positive personality is pretty infectious ngl. Hilarious when she really started to get going and your eyes went huge haha. Oh, and yeah, without training harsh vox would potentially super fuck up your throat, and it's ended a lot of careers. But with a ton of practice and hours spent on it, as long as you're practicing safe techniques people can scream on tour for years without it fucking them up.
Great reaction, by the way if you do it right, screaming/growls should not hurt your throat. Oli Sykes from Bring me the Horizon fucked up for years and kinda destroyed his vocal cords. You really gotta get the technique down
A "one-take" refers to a performer's ability to do all parts of a studio release in one go. They may take a few shots at it, but they tend to be the most raw takes of a song. "ALL (scream) be (clean) YOURS (scream)" at the end is not on the original track, but now I refuse to hear it any other way.
Bro, you wanna get into the metalcore scene and listen to some bangers, let me give you a few to check out. Hopefully you enjoy these and hopefully this starts you on your journey into metalcore! People like seeing one take performances because of the difficulty of it. These songs are all over the place and are harder for most singers. This stuff is just proof for fans and haters
nice reaction. But can everyone please stop with calling it screamo as soon as someone screams... As far as i know Screamo isn't even a genre ( could be wrong here ).It could be a subgenre of metal i don't know ( as in all screamo is metal but not all metal is screamo ). Thats basically like me saying that everything but metal is pop. Also if you do the screams or grunts the right way (vocalfry or false folds) it shouldn't hurt. If it hurts your not doing it right. That being said the part at the end where she switches from scream to clean and back word for word is insane control.
Let me help you out fam. If you want someone to stop doing something, you should help teach them what it is, so that they can then understand where they are going wrong. Might make your life a little easier
Weeeell, if done correctly and given hours and hours of proper and safe practice. Then sure, after that it's "easy", lol. Definitely not something someone can just anyone can jump into immediately. But you're totally right for anyone who wants to try it: look up guides and training videos first! Pain = stop!

They play the emotions of story and music into a feeling. Super talented. Personally brings depression to light in my eyes.
Saw Spiritbox and Jinjer LIVE, I say it is a most see in person and it only took me a month after finding out who both bands where to go :D
Dude Zombified by Falling in Reverse is a must for this channel!
One take means it’s all done in one go, similar to how it would be live. No cuts no edits, just singing to song. This is a song off of her bands album.
....and it has'nt to be the first take, because you can still do misstake and need to start again.
(For example Devin Townsend - kingdom)
She did 4 takes btw. She actually wasn't super happy with this one... we are all fooled obviously though
Bro “Rule of Nines” one take and “holy roller” one takes are both crazy too.
metal music makes me happy idk why lol spiritbox is really good.
You should react to some jinjer if you liked this, Ukrainian band, shes done some one take performances that are amazing also, pisces is a good place to start if you like the singing parts

The one take of Rule of Nines, she's devastating.
This was fun - going to be looking for your reaction to Unleash the Archers and Brittney Slayes - she's not scream-o, but maaan can she belt
Love the reactions! You gotta react to pisces by jinger. You'll love it.

Just don't call it scream-o, please, it hurts xD hahahahah
Probably not the first take, but... one take. I mean, recording it in one take, without mounting parts, like in the studio.
Great reaction, by the way if you do it right, screaming/growls should not hurt your throat. Oli Sykes from Bring me the Horizon fucked up for years and kinda destroyed his vocal cords. You really gotta get the technique down

Hey, you should try Jinjer "Pisces"! 😁🤘
Bro how many times in 5 minutes can you pause? 😂 IK it's a reaction but longer bits are easier to react to lol
React to the new azzer voice doesn't match my face video most funny yet lol
If you would like to react to an artist you might not have heard, I recommend Aesthetic Perfection with Gods and Gold

Spiritbox has tons of great songs like this, along with great songs that sound nothing like this
You really don't know what 1 take means?
I’m so for this!!
Harsh metal vocals if done correctly, is extremely easy. First rule of harsh metal singing, if you feel tension or pain, you are doing it wrong!
