The blind is easy to put up and take down. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxvlQxmcZQzSQSYbJsEgAGvG2DaduKTV99 As a female hunter, the ease of placing and setting up the blind is a plus. It’s more of a wind barrier than a warm quilted blind. Which makes it a lot lighter than our quilted blind. I enjoyed the larger windows/openings. Made for a successful season. It has held up well for the first season and the stitching looks good.
I don’t know if you’ve considered it, and maybe I’m just too much of a softy- but, on our stands we’ve always made tracks with little wood strips against the outside of the walls- and slid pieces of lexan panel in them, to slide shut over the window openings in windy weather. Deer can come from anywhere, I suppose, and that’s why you wouldn’t want them shut. But, keeping out the 10 degree wind on a chilly day helps me have more fun during deer season, as I usually only have my rifle aimed out whatever side the deer frequent the most. 🙂 great deer stand for grandpa, Zach!!
It’s awesome y’all built him a nice stand but go one step farther this year, sit in it with him on a hunt and let him tell you some stories, let him know how much he means to y’all. As a grandfather myself, I hope one day my son and grandson build me a stand like this too and I’d like for them to come sit with me and spend the day talking.
I' apologize if it means anything . In my defense I forgot to delete the msg I didn't intend to leave it here but got distracted in meantime. I sincerely apologize if my doing so hurt your feelings . I have deleted the flippant remark. I'm sorry
@@imrannaser3020 well I have to say your remark didn’t bother me at all, I have thick skin and the remarks of people I don’t even know don’t register much with me at all
I'm 75 and my son and son-in-law built me a platform stand two years ago. Just love it. Has kept me warm and I got a nice buck each year from the stand. No question that it has extended the number of deer seasons that I'll be hunting, my favorite outdoor activity.
It speaks volumes as to the integrity of your family that you would go to such lengths to accomodate your grandfather. Your friends shouldf find themselves a valuable and worthy friend and comrade. Well done young man. May God richly Bless You!
Joe and Zach, y’all are the best because family is so important and there will be memories for a very long long time. Thanks for sharing this video. Hey Sam and little Rose 🌹! 🤩🤩🤩👏👏👏👍👍👍💯💯💯
I so appreciate your care and devotion to your grandpa. So thoughtful to build something for his needs. You did a fantastic job building all the pieces. Apple doesn't fall from the tree in your family. Heck yes to the chili! Love all you guys getting together for a short weekend of work Pre Season.
Agree with you on every point... including the chili! Haven't had any in ages. Gotta get me some. Thanks for bringing that up, even though you weren't talking to me specifically!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! You guys really gave me a boost! I love the camaraderie and closeness of your family. Deer season is special, and when family takes part it becomes eternally memorable! Fun video!
Really enjoyed the video. It is priceless when 3 generations can get together like y'all do. Also really liked the deer blind. Hope this season turns out to be a great one.
What a wonderful thought to build Grandpa a hunting hut! It will keep him comfy safe and healthy! You are a grandson every grandparent wishes for! Great video!!!!
Great video. Some of my best childhood memories are building deerstands with my dad. He passed away on MN deer opener last year after a long battle with cancer. I'd give anything to help him build another deer stand. Thanks for helping bring back some good memories.
Great job Zak on the building. Your Grandpa will love it and I bet he appreciates it. Joe you and Zak are making some great family time. He will have this time alone with you and treasure the memories.
Remember, people have their length in different places...some men have their length in their lower section and some are longer from butt to head....you don't want the window so high he can';t see out of it or rest his rifle on the window ledge... Great that you are making this for your Grandpa....
Joe and Zack! You and your family's are a huge inspiration! Especially the way the world is now day's! I grew up the same way. Like minded people! Look forward to every video. Hope the tent goes live one day!..
Your Grandpa taught your Dad all about building & being outdoorsmen & loving your family. They both taught you & now Rose is learning. Best lesson? Love, respect, kindness. Of all the things she learns from you, thats the biggest. One day she will also be passing those lessons on. Hopefully with building / repairing skills too.
LOVELY daughter! Maybe someday she will want to hunt there too. I really like your stand. I have been looking at different builds because I need to build a new stand on my property for next season. Thanks and good hunting.
Joe and Grandpa must be very proud of the son and grandson you turned out to be as helpful and nice and talented as you are . I love to watch this family..
What a great video. Construction videos can get so tedious, but your quick cut editing made it a real pleasure to watch. Well done! Also, the periodic visits by Rose made it even more enjoyable!
Holy Cow!...The fruit does not fall far from the tree....lol Good to see Zach with a circular saw in hand. The blind was a very thoughtful build for "The Beast".
Hi Zach, the deer stand is just awesome for your Granddad.WOW! Awesome video.I know your Granddad will be so proud & appreciative.Rose is so cute!Great video.
Built my dad an 8' x 8' x 8' hunting blind on 10' platform decades ago. When he got too old to climb, we put the blind on a double axle trailer. Made some improvements to it, then would place it where he wanted. That thing is solid.
Excellent video! I’m planning on doing the same thing as I accumulate the materials so will be watching this as a step by step guide. Thanks again for making it so easy to learn how you built it.
If you don't want to do plexiglass windows... you can also get a clear shower curtain cut into strips and over lap some to knock off some wind keep up with pushpins. But yeah 2 bypass pieces of plexi would be great. Also my dad had hip replacement and though that is a great seat he really needs a good cushion on that. Maybe one of those body heat ones cause that METAL joint gets cold in bad weather. Best vid you have ever put out Zach.... keep them coming.
Nice job not my thing here in Canada we like to walk through the woods and track our dear but what a great thought and a great thing to do for your grandfather
Great deer stand, a old kitchen swivel chair may work great in there. Lads built me a duck blind and anchored a swivel chair to the floor, comfortable and able to turn around quietly & worked great . Your Grappa will appreciate this more then he knows right now, this is from someone who has had three hip replacement surgeries. He will be happy and COMFORTABLE sitting in there longer than he ever has at previous stands. GREAT JOB Zack & Joe!!
How nice of you to build a blind for your Grandpa!! Great job!! Fishing with Dad, priceless!! Hope Grandpa likes the blind! Family traditions are always good!! Can't wait for the Hunt!! Good luck guys!! Stay safe my friends.👍🤓👍🤓 Randy.
Made me cry sweetest thing in the world to do for your granddad! Was King Kong good i want to see it but just not sure tell your dad I had the best video in the world a great big buck came walking down my driveway looked like something right out of Disney but like a idiot I didn’t save the video i saved the picture i almost threw every camera i had in the trash can!
Great job and very good video. Building your granddad that hunting blind will be memories you will cherish for ever. It will also keep him in the family hunting tradition even longer. My grandad lost a lot of his hearing around ninety-four, but he still enjoyed hunting for several years, passing at ninety-eight. Good luck to everyone on the upcoming season…. Make sure you and your sister enjoy the company of your parents and grandparents.
Zach is so nice to see you looking out for your grandfather like that and making that wonderful deer stand for him. We all need to remember to spend time with our grandparents before it's too late.
Joe you have to get your Dad a nice comfy office chair. It adds to the hunting experience. Many great hunters have succumbed to the heavy eye lid syndrome while in the office chair. Let me know if you beat this syndrome while using the chair.
@@CrimeVid I bought mine off Kijiji for $20.00 it was used, probably in the $250.00 area brand new. No squeaks but so comfortable. If it squeaks oil is your friend.

Pretty cool you thought about Grandpa and built him the blind, you guys will be wanting one now, nice and warm ....
