there could be more wax hidden underneath, never hurts to try. if that doesn’t work, there’s probably a break in the cable, so there’s nothing you can do about it but replace it
If you’re still at work you’re going to put on one headphone that is broken and pull the other side and you’re gonna see where the other plug-in is you’re gonna get the end of the plug-in and twist it until it goes and once you do that you’re going to get tape or something sticky and wrap it around the cord and then once you wrap around the court is going to be on there and then once you get a new cord
Y’all it’s November 30th and I just tried it! It worked. I put the alcohol on a swab and I’d clean the black part, then press my towel on it and blow hot air for several seconds and then swab it again and then blow hot air again, do it at least 3 times! Woohoo!
I’ve done this as well by accident and they’ve never stopped working. Might be an easy last ditch way to clean these out between the water/detergent and the heat or the dryer getting most wax out. I’ve had several stubborn pairs of earbuds where I think earwax gets compacted below the mesh and was difficult to clean. Too much water/alcohol directly on this speaker can kill it permanently from my experience though. An alternative would be to use a needle to gently remove the mesh, and clean it out along with any wax on the speaker gently using compressed air.
Have tried cleaning several pairs to address this issue, but I’ve had mixed success. I think this is because they earwax can get lodged underneath the speak mesh, making it difficult to remove. For me this always impacts the left bud (likely due to listening on this side more often in bed or due to more earwax in my left ear). I tried this method (albeit without a hot towel), which didn’t restore volume to earbud and clear the stubbornly impacted earwax under the mesh (I was still seeing debris obstructing the speaker through the mesh). I had to use a very small amount of alcohol, poured directly into the mesh at an angle (not completely immersed which can damage the speaker permanently), then immediately pointing the speaker facing down to the ground, waiting 5 seconds, finally gently blowing compressed air into the speaker to dry out the alcohol. This caused a small amount of earwax to be blown out of the small speaker on the flat face of the earbud, and sound was restored in full to the left bud. A safer way to address impacted earwax would be to use a needle to remove the speaker mesh, enabling the mesh and speaker to be more thoroughly cleaned. As mentioned in the video and from my personal experience earbuds (wouldn’t do this for AirPods) will survive a wash/dry cycle so that could be another last resort cleaning method if nothing else works to address impacted wax and you don’t want to fork over dollars to Apple for another pair. I think that Apple designed its earbuds to always appear to fail after several months of heavy use due to how its design makes it easy for wax to accumulate between the mesh and the speaker and become challenging to clean through superficial methods. Many people try their best at cleaning them out but just give up and buy another pair. It sometimes can be done with a little effort and skill.
After watching your video and following your tips, it actually works 😃 I can hear from my left earphones and I used warm water with a flash light to help see the wax in the mesh. I have blue skull candy earphones so it was completely see through. Thanks man!!! 💯 😃👍

@@xluhziaa9338 you have to take any material you find in the house, you can do it with a towel; moisten it with hot water, then rub that part of the headphones (where those little black boxes are) as much as you think is needed.. hope that helps ':)
Mine had the left earpod completely not working and the right one was working but with soft sound. Now I’ve done whats in the video and the right one works and sounds just like a new earpod . The left one surprisingly started working but with a very very soft and low volume
