Interesting.. it doesn't come as a plugin hybrid? Strange.. the GLC **ONLY** comes as a plugin hybrid here now, the AMG line aside. Only 300e and 400e.
Genuine question, what does a GLC do better than a mainstream medium SUV (ignoring the badge of course)? I just don’t really understand the point of buying a GLC300 over a CR-V RS eHEV or a CX-5 Akera turbo or something along those lines.
Delayed reaction here. But you’re on track. People buy them for badge and brand cache. Maybe they have had Mercs in the past. Maybe their parents aspired to own one. Maybe they just wanna look “better than”. But honestly, I think it’s a misnomer to say that you get a significantly better car for twice the money of a mainstream example.
@@therightcar one of the last few built in germany i can tell you a hyundai may be half the price but is twice the crap! damn dual clutch gear box , nothing but problems, cvt give me a break, torque converter any day. my wife picks hers up in a couple of weeks . had all brands nothing compares, if you like a car that drives like it should you pay for it if you want a car for transport of the fam you buy it big difference
It's a great car, for sure. In fact, there's nothing to fault in this car as long as you avoid a glossy trim on the center console. My pick would be a GLC 300d for more performance and efficiency 😊 I'm from South Africa 🇿🇦 by the way, so this thing isn't cheap. It comes at R1 500 000, which is roughly $129 000. I'm not complaining because it simply means that I'm just not a target market 😂
@therightcar crazy expensive, more than it rivals like the X3 and the Q3 . With that price you you get a 2022 BMW X3 M with 20 000km or a very low mileage 2023 BMW X3 M40i.
A very informative video, but describing things as "good" is a bit lazy. More descriptive adjectives are needed, IMHO. I also wish you had commented on the reliability of MB cars, as their reputation in this area is often criticised.
Really like the new infotainment setup in the new Mercedes lineups. GLC's exterior is always one of the best anyway. However, X3's interior still feels more quality to me, and drives just better. GLC is fixed pricing, while X3 is always negotiable, which will end up cheaper than GLC I believe. Overall, it's just very hard to beat the X3. Q5 really needs a big update to stay competitive to these 2, especially when you factor in "it's just a more expensive VM" (said my wife..).
Yep, there's rear cup holders. So many reviewers have difficulty with the double tap to bring them out. The rear cargo capacity is 620 litres. The 550 litres you showed is the old model.
I love my Ford Edge Titanium Elite and other than exclusiveness the Mercedes doesn’t offer more. Certainly not enough for twice the price. If I did want to spend more I’d get a loaded Lincoln Nautilus or maybe a Cadillac XT5. These German cars (or Korean knockoffs) just aren’t better.
4:13 - I made a mistake - the correct boot capacity is 620 litres!
470 liters for the plug-in hybrid version.

Tech is not luxury. Luxury is a different thing all together. But this car has both in spades. Got mine two days ago and blown away with it.
I noticed what looked like steering wheel transmission shifters, is that correct ???
Yes!

To many buyers its the badge that matters.....that is the main consideration when buying
Space, comfort and refinement. By space I mean tall people can fit nicely in the front, something the Asian manufacturers don't do well.

Yikes! Yeah that's pricey in SA. We don't get the diesel, though. Sad!

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll work on my vocabulary 😅

Fair enough! And yep, the X3 is a classy thing.

Thanks mate - I'll pin a comment correcting the boot size.
As for the cupholders - they are badly designed, but clever! HA!
Apparently first tap is for "ipad/phone" holder, double tap is for cup's :)
put a deposit for it, interior design is just better than anything else in my opinion
Nice - congrats!
GLC or Lexus RX?
I’d go GLC personally.
I feel it was a missed opportunity to say that the rear air con vents look like a minion.
Best comment ever! Hahahaa
I love the car but I really really disappointed with the rubbish Primary school level dashboard design
Must be a talented primary school kid!
RSQ3?
Great alternative.
A 3 pronged suppository ? No thanks

All the piano black is a disaster
It's a common issue.
Enough of the vegan leather on new cars! I like the GLA better.
Get used to it - the non-cow world is near.
Vegan, just means cheaper fake leather 😮
Leather is being phased out... #carbonzero So u need to eat a homeless man's 455!💩
Over $ 100,000 and fake leather :ie vinyl seats 3 prong are having a laugh. 😊
Many cars now have the fake leather, Audi, lexus, BMW.....cheaper to make....
I wouldn't buy a vehicle with vinyl seats. I'd rather cloth seats than vinyl.
Not a normal car for normal Australian 😢 mindset of Australian is different from brands pricing because so many choices are cheaper
What an unremarkable car.
Your words, not mine. 😘
@@therightcar so you would concur, if you could?
Why are you happy and smiling because it's Mercedes but and The cost of living that's not a car for for any one in Australia 😅
Chill out - Australians are some of the greatest debt-holders on earth. People get what they want.
Mercedes Huge seller in Australia,
