If you ever want to take a different weekend get away you guys should come check out Cincinnati. HUGE craft beer scene here and a pretty bangin food scene too. Also the Kentucky bourbon trail is close by too 😉
Nice video and man must be really cool to have so many breweries within driving distance! We made an coconut oatmeal stout a few times and it is a great beer...we had issues with keeping the coconut flavor and also some astringency issues, but will get it down eventually! Cheers!
i will have to go an look it up, but i would say just use a good oatmeal stout recipe you have and then toast 1 pound of unsweetened organic shredded coconut (10-12 minutes in the over on parchment paper at 325 degrees or until golden brown....watch it closely because it can go from golden brown to brunt in seconds.) and put it in the mash and then toast another 1lb for the secondary and let that sit for 7 days or so and rack. Only issue we had was the coconut flavor dissipating over time. This was for a 5 gallon batch so you would use much less for your smaller batches.
Barley and the Hops TV ok cool thanks. Really enjoy your videos. I’m from the LA area myself and have tried only a handful of breweries. Looking forward to trying more. Monkish and El Segundo have definitely been my favorite
@@HankAttack89 Those are good. In my opinion Beachwood, Mumford, Brouwerij West, and Highland Park Brewery are the best in the greater LA area (Beachwood being just outside it). Highland Park Brewery is probably my favorite.
I love your channel great job, I’m a home brewer in Camarillo I’m glad to see you visit my local favorite spots

Congrats on hitting 1k subs!
Agreed! One of the best at producing home brewing and beer related vids out there!

I've been wanting to make a coconut oatmeal stout for a while now. You have the recipe anywhere to share?

Yeah I've heard about toasting the coconut. Seems like you did the right steps.
Congratulations on 1k!
Where can I get one of those maps? Great videos 👍🏾
I see them around at my local breweries in the LA area.

You have your beard and hair cut but where are your mish mash of assorted tattoos that don’t really go together
