WSU's Martin Stadium is a great feel. That building was part of the remodel as it's the football operations building and it's so tight in there that's where they aligned it.
Double deck stadiums are overrated. Lowering the field and removing tracks is a better improvement. The LA Coliseum used to have a teach and seating was like 30 yards if not more away from the field. SC removed the track and shoved the field into the closed end zone making it a much better viewing stadium. Cal has an ancient stadium but steep seating, best viewing stadium I have ever been in, but the bench seats suck.
In regards to Martin Stadium (Washington State University), the stadium in the past 10-13 years has undergone renovations (new press box & suites, club level, premium seating, & the Football Operations Complex).
This is awful! If you're going to be that judgmental and nitpicky at least give other reasons than "too small", "Has a track" and "has a building." Does the quality of the seating matter? The architecture and style? Amenities? Background? Quality of the view from stands? Good concessions? Have you BEEN to any of these stadiums? Sounds like very superficial criteria. Also I noticed when you said closing off the end zone was a plus, but then you hit Wazzu for not "capitalizing on the views." Make up your mind! I remember when Rutgers got full of themselves and expanded their stadium closing off the end zone, there was a really idyllic and pastoral view that got covered up. Closing off the end zones makes the view worse and takes away character from the stadium.
It's a smaller conference but Hawaii in the MWC has got to have the worst college football stadium in Division 1. It's supposed to be temporary but that temporary looks to be going on for many more years with no permanent stadium in sight to even get started building anytime soon.
I'm noticing a trend here with these very academic schools having the worst football stadiums (Northwestern, Vanderbilt, Duke, Rice) all of them are by far the best schools academically in their conference
That's because they don't put a lot of money in football. Just imagine if Kansas and Duke since they are already basketball powers focused now on building up football more since they have the built in power for basketball
Rice's Stadium made sense when it was built they were in the Southwest Conference with Texas, Texas A&M, Baylor, Texas Tech, TCU, SMU, Houston, & Arkansas while being in the Houston metro area. At the time college football was more of a "butts in seats" rather than "eyes on screen" money maker.
As a KU fan, I gotta say the one of the underrated problems with the stadium is the parking. You would think it would be easy to find parking for a KU game of all places but the only lot nearby is the size of a Chipotle parking lot so you gotta park really far away and walk.
I feel for you guys. Amazing hoops but some alum has got to step up and drop some cheddar for your football stadium. Hopefully that 300mill DG mentioned is gonna happen. It's tough enough recruiting when you have a nice stadium/facilities. Don't need extra challenges. Oregon State has two Billionaire alums. We got an anonymous 50mill donation for our stadium completion 2 years ago that covered 1/3 of the add-on. So, hopefully Kansas can go to its alums and get a decent stadium.
As 2 people commented, the building in the end zone is the football operations building. Players can workout year round looking down at the field. Locker rooms, meeting rooms, dining are all available to the team with coaching offices on the top floor. It's a great tool for recruiting. Behind the building are the practice fields. Some day I would like to see the north side torn down and replaced with a smaller lower tier and a tier above it to get seating up to the mid 40s. The nearby landmark (10 feet away) field house precludes a full upper deck on the north side, but a smaller lower tier would allow a the new tier to be above Hollingberry Field House. They have a loyal fan base but the vast majority must take the 6 hour (on a good day) trip from the Seattle area traversing a mountain range a semi-desert and vast farmland to get to a game. Fans are closer to the action than any other Pac 12 stadium.
I'm a Beav but I view the Cougs as a cousin to the Beavs and I regularly root for you guys. The challenge here isn't that you have a bad stadium at all. Just compared to Washington(the Tajmahal of college football period) , Oregon State(now second best in Pac after renovation), and Oregon which is nice but I bet will be refurbished in next 5-10, Martin just doesn't match up. That being said, Utah, AZ, ASU, UCLA, and even USC are all sub-par to most of the Pac 12 North teams stadiums. Martin is solid and better then these large South dumps. Cougs got shafted on this one. Don't think DP has been to any of the 4 North stadiums and if he came out and toured the 4 I think he would be very impressed.
Bad take on Martin Stadium, it's perfect size for Wazzu and actually a pretty nice place to see a game. The building on the end is the new football operations building. They've put a lot of work into the place over the last 10 years or so, it's way better now than it used to be. They'll be capping it off with a new indoor practice facility opening in the next year or 2. I would argue some of the teams in the Pac with way too big of stadiums and poor attendance (Cal, UCLA) are much worse than Martin.
The fact that he put WSU last in the pac 12 just goes to show that this dude did about 5 minutes of research on this that stadium is always full and the building on the end zone is the football operations building you donut
How about this for worst stadiums… Miami- cause the use the Orange Bowl Shitt, I mean Pitt- They use the Steelers stadium Temple-plays in the Linc UCLA- plays in the Rose Bowl South Florida- plays in Raymond James At least the the teams mentioned have their own stadiums.
Rice Stadium will always bother me because you'd think at some point they'd get rid of the upper decks on both sides, build new suites on one side, and re-open the endzone seating (since they built that facility on the other end) if they need to sell more tickets. Makes far more sense than keeping the upper decks.
This guy hates any single tier (no upper deck) stadiums with "U" or horseshoe design, and especially those with a building behind the end zone. I just saved you almost 15 mintues from watching this video.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I very much like many of the stadiums on this list. It's interesting how some observers forget these football programs belong to schools, and are not always built to just generate millions of dollars. Also in the TV era, it isn't really so bad for a school to have a smaller stadium. It seems some people want stadiums to all look the same or something.
Having been to Tulsa's Stadium and been on the field tbh I thought it was decent but also could've been better. Although the sunset as a backdrop against the Stadium was nice.
I would say Maryland’s stadium would merit a dishonorable mention. I went to see it in person during a vacation in Washington DC and definitely was NOT impressed by it!
Rice never gets close to selling out. I think they inflate their attendance numbers to make it higher compared to who actually shows up. Relic of the SWC conference.
You should do one on the old mile high. I think it was the best Dual stadium for baseball and football the way the stands would float out. It was a better stadium than the cookie cutter ones.
Well, that's why they are taking some of these teams and playing in Ireland in week zero. We need more of those "field trip" games where you go to something exotic like Hong Kong or what not.
Now, not necessarily. That’s why some of these teams aren’t dumping in the money to renovate these stadiums and they like to focus on other things (Duke, basketball, Rice, academics.) Duke has drawn a lot of fans recently but Rice has drawn nearly nothing. Duke could get a renovation if they keep performing as a solid team but I think it’ll be a while for Rice to have anything done
As a UCF fan, I thought you were going to say us for the Big 12. There really is nothing special except the bouncing, which for non-ucf fans think is horrible (we love it)
Dude….just because a stadium lacks a second deck doesn’t make it bad…have you considered that Wallace wade is like….really really old and from a time when second decks weren’t very popular in college ball??
Only if you had to pay for all improvements and stadium. Many you say how bad a stadium is but you look in stand you could fire cannon and hit no one. Let's build all new jump ticket prices to where guys like me can't afford to go.
I know this is an old video. However I’m just seeing it, and I live in Houston, and have been to rice stadium many times…those are not tarps…the bleachers were completely removed…so it’s just wasted space. It’s terrible looking. They need a new stadium or major renovation badly
Not only is Rice Stadium too big it’s old & idk how it is now but i heard it was very disgusting and run down when it hosted Superbowl 8 back in 1974/1975
this guy loves his second decks
he doesn’t in baseball stadiums
Some of the biggest stadiums and iconic stadiums do not have upper decks….Rose Bowl and Michigan Stadium.
Alongside team logos on scoreboards
DG likes toylike upper decks.
He also likes his renderings 😉
The ROSE BOWL has NO upper deck.
WSU's Martin Stadium is a great feel. That building was part of the remodel as it's the football operations building and it's so tight in there that's where they aligned it.

He mentions the Football Ops building in multiple videos never actually trying to know what it is. Dude is a flamer.
I actually think Martin Stadium looks nice. It’s smaller, but the stadium looks pretty modern.
It's so crazy that one of these stadiums once hosted a super bowl
Instead of Wash St, I’d say UCLA. not on campus, not big attendance and outdated
Rice: It looks like a fitness center cause... IT IS A FITNESS CENTER!!😂
This is awful! If you're going to be that judgmental and nitpicky at least give other reasons than "too small", "Has a track" and "has a building." Does the quality of the seating matter? He’s a Trump supporter what u expect

Apparently you haven't seen San Jose State's football stadium. Talk about an eye sore. Two decks on one side, nothing on the other side.
Wallace Wade Stadium needs major renovation makeover so badly second deck ten or eleven rows like Boston College Stadium I agree 100%.
And also Wallace Wade Stadium needs renderings so badly at Duke University for better attendance it's make sense.
Wallace Wade Stadium at Duke University need to invest and need to improve.
Bro just hates everything
So do you just want NFL stadiums in college?

it's refreshing to hear his disgust over stadium designs, like he takes it personally or something and it's on his shoulders to right these wrongs
The fact that he put WSU last in the pac 12 just goes to show that this dude did about 5 minutes of research on this that stadium is always full and the building on the end zone is the football operations building you donut
Have you been to all those stadiums in person or just go by still pictures.
was in chicago around 2006 and went to a game at northwestern....it was a neat place...great for football ...i was pleasantly surprised
Washington St. is ranked in the top 25. I wouldn’t really say they’re irrelevant.
Let's be honest, Vandy ain't gonna be in the sec for much longer
Some ideas. Best minor league MLB ballparks. Best US high school football stadiums.
You know some campuses are dry, so no beer
How about this for worst stadiums…
Miami- cause the use the Orange Bowl
Shitt, I mean Pitt- They use the Steelers stadium

i wouldnt call rice stadium worse, kennndy did a speech there

Boston College's stadium is garbage.
We need a G5 stadium ranking list!!!
You can not say ANYTHING about Martin Stadium until you go there yourself, it is amazing
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I very much like many of the stadiums on this list. It's interesting how some observers forget these football programs belong to schools, and are not always built to just generate millions of dollars. Also in the TV era, it isn't really so bad for a school to have a smaller stadium. It seems some people want stadiums to all look the same or something.
these stadiums is CHEEKS
Hard to believe Tulsa's stadium actually hosted a pro (USFL) team.
Having been to Tulsa's Stadium and been on the field tbh I thought it was decent but also could've been better. Although the sunset as a backdrop against the Stadium was nice.
A backdrop of the mountains should not be a factor. If we are taking stadiums, BYU's actual stadium sucks.
I would say Maryland’s stadium would merit a dishonorable mention. I went to see it in person during a vacation in Washington DC and definitely was NOT impressed by it!
I think Vanderbilt and Ole Miss have the worst stadiums in the SEC. Ole Miss is like a High school stadium.
Martin Stadium is nice. Move Husky Stadium to Snoqualmie Pass and expand its capacity to 200,000 amd see how well they draw.
These bad stadiums do they have the fans to build a bigger place and is there a demand for more seating.
Well, that's why they are taking some of these teams and playing in Ireland in week zero. We need more of those "field trip" games where you go to something exotic like Hong Kong or what not.

Outdated is this dudes fav word 🤣🤣
You should have Seen Wallace wade stadium 15years ago
From the outside, Rice's stadium looks like a USFL stadium. Only thing missing is a few splotches of fans.
Maybe Vanderbilt should move to Nissan Stadium after The Titans move into their new dome stadium.
Went to a rice game last year. They were lucky to have 1000 in the stands
I like the stadiums with the open end zones
McGuirk Alumni Stadium home of the UMass Minutemen should have been on the list
Only if you had to pay for all improvements and stadium. Many you say how bad a stadium is but you look in stand you could fire cannon and hit no one. Let's build all new jump ticket prices to where guys like me can't afford to go.

It's sad to see Ryan Field on your list.
These are division 2 schools. Cant judge them. Their avg attendance is 8000 people division 1 avgs 40000
This guy is about as monotone and bland as the stadiums he's covering.
Also do these school have money to just waste on making there stadium better looking
yes they do.
Its a scam.
Ok lets do this jeopardy style.
I'll take stadiums for 100 Alex.
53
What is the number of time? This guy says renovations in this video 😅
You know how embarassing it is for a big ten elite team to go plsy there lol including rutgers stadium come on northwesten please leave the conference
You passed over Charlotte (AAC)? That's a FCS stadium!
Group of 5 is DEAD! It's the P2 and G8 now.
Texas Techs new stadium is 🔥
How about the Sun Belt conference? Who has the worst?
#1: Kansas Jayhawks
yes we know this is why we are planning on rebuilding it
Nice vid
Whats your deal with second decks? Tf man
Tulsa used to have 4 sides it’s not a bad stadium
Do you even know why Rice Stadium is so big? Do some freakin research.
C-USA…. Bowers Stadium…. I am sorry I mean they are planning renovations but 😬
Rice U used to seat over 80 thoughsand at 1 time hosted the super bowl
What about the universitys with the best stadiums?
Tulsa is soooo much better than Rice
Cal is in the ACC
hace estadios de menos de 20 mil aficionados, por favor
sounds liek a cheesy announcer. lets get to rumbleeeeeee
Not only is Rice Stadium too big it’s old & idk how it is now but i heard it was very disgusting and run down when it hosted Superbowl 8 back in 1974/1975
You sound like a robot
daniel jones is awful lmao.
Check out SFA football.
.
First
Bobby Stodd Stadium is the worst Stadium in the ACC
