    Hi Mark, Thank you for the very useful information. I thought about a diesel heater but for no more than we get to go camping in a year, it isn't worth it for us. We always go to the same campground (within 25 min.from home) which has electric hook-up. If it get's a little chilly, we have an electric heater to take care of the chill. The camper is also set-up with propane service. We have a 2002 Coleman/Fleetwood Bayside pop-up that is close to pristine condition. It's always stored in my shop which has heat in the winter. I really enjoy your camping videos as you go to some remote area's. Keep up the good work. Have a great day! Cheers!! Illinois

      Thank you again, Larry, for watching. More camping videos are coming, I promise. I'm working to get caught up on all our fabricating and product installs at the moment. (Just more than a few) I'll be mixing the camping videos in, I promise!
      When we would camp at State Parks with our 1999 Coleman Utah and hook-ups, we used our MICA heater. amzn.to/3Uz3ECe
      You get a very nice heat which is dry. It also takes the moisture out of the air. It heats up faster than other options, i.e., propane heater in camper. Safe to walk around, and we can use it in our home when not camping without the worries of a cat getting hurt. Looks like a big flat screen TV. Lol
      Did you find our channel from a Coleman video? If not, you might enjoy the Camping Play list (can't miss the pop up!)

      We have taken this places most Colemans shouldn't go at its age. 🤣
      Thank you again for watching, following along, and all your comments! Really means a lot to us!

      @@OutOfOfficeCamping Yes, I did find you from doing your pop-up video. Glad I did as your channel has lot's to offer. I ordered one of those heaters today that you suggested. Thanks for the tip my friend. Cheers!!

      It's so wonderful you found us from the Coleman Pop-Up video. We love our little pop-up. Sadly, we haven't used it in over a year since we've been doing more off-road adventures.
      Wow, we're so happy you picked one up! You have to comment back once you get it and let us know what you think. I never heard of a MICA heater. When I was doing my homework on infrared heaters I saw a video which a fellow did a 4 different heaters and the power they used. Plus how quickly they heated up. I was sold. 🥵😊

    I wonder if splicing in a longer cord to the controller so it could be brought inside is possible without causing a voltage drop to the controller? (If that question makes any sense...)

      Hey John, I definitely think that would work without any problems. I've gotten really good at counting with the remote. I now know how many clicks to get to each color group. 🤣 Of course, what would be really cool is if you could buy an extension cable which you could just connect and go. Maybe they do, and I never looked. 🙂
      But one other thing you got me thinking about, which I didn't mention, was powerstations and DC ports. Not all are created equal. So someone might buy a diesel heater to get a code only to find out that the amps off the DC port is not strong enough. So, it's definitely worth the mention. I saw a bunch of YT creators this winter getting 8K units only to be left in the cold. I'm not sure why they didn't do a drive camp night? Always good to test your system prior to using them for the first time. 🤣 Just like you did with your Hcalory heater.

    Where did you get your extra length of exhaust pipe at?

    • @OutOfOfficeCamping
      @OutOfOfficeCamping  14 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I've actually moved away from the longer exhaust pipe unless I really need to get the exhaust away. I've gone back to just the stock setup pointed down. What I learned was that the faster you can get the exhaust out, the less likely you will have carbon build-up in the unit. Which could cause the unit to stop working.

      Also, this video has a great deal of the other parts we use listed in the description. th-cam.com/video/wA6Z15qG5H8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=BKd6kWTweLCJOdWt

    Over 200 bucks? I paid just over 100 for mine new. Not sure why you’re not a fan of the bluetooth… it has a great app with easy to read temp settings as well as on and off. Maybe i mis heard you in the video but i think you said don’t get the bluetooth.. anyway, i have an iphone and you did mention android so maybe with android only ifs not good with the app.

      @OutOfOfficeCamping  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @danielgray7305 Heck, when I looked, they're $79 for the bluetooth right now. I have a feeling something newer and cooler is coming out. 🙂 I really like that Hcalory pushes their designs. Giving far more choices they any other company on the market. A non spill gas cap would be welcome. How do you travel with your heater to avoid diesel spilling?
      Yes, I did say don't waste your money on bluetooth since the app doesn't work with Android. I do like the heater. I just don't understand how hard it is to write code to work with Android in this day and age. Or better yet just included a remote with a display. 🤣
      Thank you for your comment and for checking out our channel. If you haven't checked out, some of our other diesel heater tricks not seen on TH-cam.

      @@OutOfOfficeCamping I agree with you on the Android. Especially android compatibility with Iphone. They can do hear transplants these days but can’t get two phones to jive hahahaha! Great video man. Looking forward to taking delivery of my new heater!

      @danielgray7305 I know right! So true. I'd be interested to have you let me know if anything is different with your unit when you get it. If you don't mind! It's definitely the best bang for the buck. I'm just wondering if they have something new coming out.
