Building refresher- once you place your first piece, you activate snapping points to keep things consistant. Sadly, this leads to frustration and building pieces going under ground. If you hit the HOME key, you re-set to free placement. I love this game and am quickly approaching 600 hours. I am excited for this playthrough and am looking forward to the next episode. A point to remember, if you play long enough you can level up enough to unlock everything on the tech tree. However, there are a finite number of talent points so you may want to plan those out. Of course, everything this early in the game is huge but as you progress, something to keep in mind.
To add to this you can use Page Up and Page Down to raise lower foundations / beams before placing and setting the initial grid. Also Home is free placement and End is reset grid. Some options are not listed in the HUD and you need to check in the settings - controls to see them.
being a streamer it is important for his own sanity to not treat tech points as infinite. while you will eventually unlock everything..that takes awhile, in the meantime just spending them like they are infinite will inevabilty result in you needing to grind to get the points for needed progress.
initially everything needs to be unlocked on a more as needed basis, then later splurging
@@death299 Agreed, especially so early in the let's play. Over time there is a little more flexibility but it is unrealistic to run 1 char to max skills unless your using the same char for multiple series. Even then, there are a lot of things to unlock. Great point.

Remember with your wood base, the bigger the base, the bigger the fire, and everyone has a fire sooner or later :)
A good thing to do is to use dirt foundations and just build on top saves a lot of wood beams and time as well as more safe to put a fire pit on.

It is good to finally see you pick up Icarus again. It is so good! Everything that they fixed and the depth is nerd level worthy! Would love to see a No Man’s Sky Survial playthrough or a Subnautica before the new Subnautica comes out! If you have time?

The foundation supports will seem unlevel due to the unlevel terrain, you had it all good on so many occasions G.. Am happy you are covering Icarus again, just got me back into it!

Icarus is my first survival game. 490 hours in. Which means it will be hard to find another that I will like because Icarus is so good.

I can't believe you waited so long to play. I've been playing since it came out!
A good spot that I found to build a good base is in the middle of D3. There is a water fall there that is good for water wheels. Also, if you get attacked by a bear. You can run into the river, but make sure it deep. Swim backwards while the bear is chasing you and you and stab it in the face.

First weapon I always go for is javelins. They are excellent for killing game, get those furs for a bed and bone for better javelins, knives etc.

Just started playing this and it is great. They should place the torch with the axe and pick though and not up where you have to scroll to find it. I went for several nights with pitch black and no light. Until I noticed it. Yea, those horse like creatures are mongrels. They will attack and they won't leave you alone. I find placing those beams is a pain.

They need to add a ruff bed so you can sleep through the night, make it so it has no benefits and sleeping to many times will cause health issues so it does force the player to craft a better one.

IT'S a Shame that you can't *USE Your Space POD* as a temporary hut .... while you build or escape creatures and for storage.
This game Has gotten SO Bad and they just don't fix bug's that NEED to be fix.
