I love that there was a wide variety of eras. Dear John way back when Taylor was practically a baby to just this year? I’m here for it. The work she’s done to train her singing voice is just so apparent, but even back then you could absolutely see why she was signed and it wasn’t just because she was a beautiful young lady. There’s just something special about our Tay, and there always has been.
Eyes Open was sung at a concert at Harvey Mudd College (CA) for the VH1 Songwriters series in 2012 or so --- before Red dropped iirc. You'd love that -- she was doing a lot of acoustic (band, not just her) and introductions to the songs.
Once u have watched enough of her concerts, appearances, etc it becomes much easier to tell which era - 90% of the time by her hairstyle. 3:31 this I believe would be the Red era.
I think the whole taylor can't sing narrative started because when she was young her stamina and breath control weren't where they are now - and also she has insisted on singing live for everything she does (I know she takes rests and has backing vocal support for the eras tour but still its a 3.5hr show, sung like 85-90% live) so if shes ever hit a bum note or made a mistake during a live performance that was used as evidence when that's just something that can happen to any live singer. She also has a lot of songs that are lyric and narrative driven so she's not out there constantly using her belting power - I think that's also on her being musical theatre fan and a theatre kid. Lots of musicals have pulled back vocals because of the storytelling

I have learned most recently that unfortunately most if not all of the Eras tour is either auto tuned or mimed. It broke my heart a bit. The show was still amazing and I love every minute of it but o did feel a bit let down by the news. I of course knew some would have to be due to the level of dance performance but not the whole show.

That's not entirely true. 80-85% is still live, but she takes some breaks and only lip syncs. She often does that in the Red, 1989 and TTPD era. But most of the other eras she sings live.
