My brother and I ran a few different kinds at different price points and often the cheaper ones worked great when cold and were perfect for short events. But, it would get much worse after driving laps for 10-20 mins. They'd become too soft and squishy and the grip just went away. The expensive ones usually dealt with heat much better and would improve with temperature. So, for street use or for short autocross events the cheaper ones (nankang something something and Federals) were great :) Oh, right. They also deal completely differently with rain...
Had a set of XXR's on an old car. Got into an accident where I went airborne, while going backwards, over a ditch. (Long story short I had over corrected, spun 180° and couldn't get stopped before going over the ditch). When I got the car to my shop and removed the wheels to check them on the tire balancer, none of them were bent or cracked nor had any hops in them. They were 17x7.5 with 205/50 tires. Sure cheaper wheels aren't as desirable as more high end wheels, but for a set of $500-$600 wheels they held up track days, every day use and even an accident where wheels typically would've been damaged. I'm not saying everyone should go buy a set of XXR's but if you're trying to customize your car on a budget and need a different wheel set up than what you have, I wouldn't hesitate to run a set of XXR'S. You can always upgrade to those expensive authentic wheels down the road.

It’s tough I feel like it would be inconclusive unless you run the lows on the high suspension and vis-à-vis But for that huge of a cost for just fraction of the improvement. The low seems like a better deal.

We do stopping tests using precision GPS. You can look at a graph of the speed to see exactly where they were at 60mph, then 0mph and plot the 2 coordinates on google earth.
Those are one of the most amazing blue eyes I have ever seen.
You guys are awesome.
Can I invite you to my wedding? We need a ring bearer and I think Nolan would look great with a clip-on bowtie in a suit he outgrew because it's the same one his parents bought last year and he's a growing boy.
hahahah
as a production associate at Michelin I can say for a fact that no other company stands to our Quality standards for our rubber compounds and manufacturing process. second to none. They are for sure worth every penny.
The wheels mean nearly nothing other than weight. I would like to see this test done with same exact tires including size, but with expensive wheels vs cheap wheels.
It’s tough I feel like it would be inconclusive unless you run the lows on the high suspension and vis-à-vis
But for that huge of a cost for just fraction of the improvement. The low seems like a better deal.
10:24 that edit made me immediately think about initial D

We do stopping tests using precision GPS. You can look at a graph of the speed to see exactly where they were at 60mph, then 0mph and plot the 2 coordinates on google earth. Take a measurement between them and boom, you got stopping distance. You can also plot another excel sheet column with a derivative to get acceleration or in this case negative acceleration.
I have xxr's exactly like those but they're gold and look amazing lmao I'm glad Nolan thinks so too haha 😂
17 seconds from upload? Well, goodbye to another 17 mins of my sleep lol
