My extended mix to the classic #1 hit "You're Not Alone" from "Olive" . This contains the album "Extra Virgin" hidden Acapella content along with the original 1996 Radio Edit, 1997 re-release Radio Edit and the Black Olive's Extended Mix entwined together to create an extended version of the original #1 hit back in May 1997. "You're Not Alone" was initially released as a single back in 1996 but found greater success in a remixed single version which topped the charts here in the UK back in May 1997. Taken from the album "Extra Virgin". Remix and additional production by Tim Kellet and Robin Taylor-Firth for Black Olive. (C) 1997 RCA RECORDS/SONY BMG MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT (UK) Ltd. I lost both of my parents in my 20s. I am an only child with no close family apart from my wife. This song gets me every time. When my beloved father passed away, I listened to a lot of 90s trance tunes to distract me. This song made me bawl my eyes out after feeling numb all that fateful sunny March morning in 2014 when he passed. This song holds a special place in my heart - as the key to my emotions. I'll wait 'till the end of time to see him again.

I remember it of course, who doesn't but I hadn't heard it in years. I was just doing something else when it came on and wow, I always liked it but I had to put the volume up and just listen for the entire length of this extended mix.
It's an unreal track, there's a few from a similar era and Olive was very good at this type of thing but there's such a unique sound to this and such amazing production that I can't really think of much that rivals it. Sounds great all these years later, doesn't sound dated in the slightest.

Timeless and purely brilliant
You don’t realize how badass the nineties and its music was until a pandemic hits for a few years and you start appreciating how “normal” life was before everything broke down. BUT to be fair a lot of folks would argue things weren’t “better” back then. Let’s just agree the music had a more universal flow to it in a lot of ways. I love modern indie bands and local music/ experimental genres of our time, but this era of music had so many gems hidden within it. I get so much nostalgia from finding these tracks
