I've managed to pilfer quiet a substantial cache of bor from raiding bandit camp in Haven. Probably not as much as needed for full production line vs the effort though.
I heard calx gives you malachite wich gives you more cuprum. Does calx exist in haven? Also, every time I put a granum pile in the extraction I only get granmum dust instead of amentum. Am I doing something wrong?

Yeah i wish I had started crafting earlier. I gave away a few hundred in the early days of haven. havent been as lucky since.
is the ratio the same for rock oil as it is bor once we leave main land? im trying to grind lores up before i leave
yes Bor you have to find in fields and pick up by hand. the best way to get cuprum in the main is crushing saburra and smelting malachite

This video was made prior to release. Haven has changed a bit but I don't believe calx is in haven.
Whats a quick way to get furnace up before putting all of the ada in there?
sadly no quick way for furnace. Read the books and smelt the blood ore save your ada till you are higher if you want.
Is it ok to use less than 1000 of Amarantum?
I stuck with 880 and the vendor that sell pick axes is gone somewhere. SO I cannot get more Amarantum.
You can craft low durability tools with 0 skills using bones and leather. Just unluck tools via books
find your utility vendor every town has one. but yes you can smelt any amount of Amarantum
