TesseracT has essentially created the sub genre of Djent as a whole. (Alongside Periphery and Monuments.) But you can hear the individual tastefulness and groove in every moment of heaviness with TesseracT- unlike how other bands in this scene and in metal in general just make a complicated riff to confuse the listener and call it quality… It really does take more listens than one for a first time new fan like yourself to understand, but you will. Thanks for the vid :)

Absolutely agree, there's a certain sublimeness to the heavy parts that never crosses over to needless guitar wank, which is impressive considering how technically detailed they do it. It's never a chore to get through their heavy instrumental sections. (imo) Some of their best songs are massively riff-focused, and never boring. (i particularly love Dystopia, and Eclipse for their insanely generous serving of guitar-bliss :P )

This song feels like a love letter to each of the past albums. For me I hear a lot of sonder and one. around 5:00, there’s that higher far away guitar riff that sounds like it’s from polaris and sweet vocals from altered state around 6:10. Everything just feels like a gorgeous mix. I’m so glad the kings are back

Jay is a really interesting drummer. For this style of music, you expect really elaborate fills and decoration that take up all the empty space in the song. But Jay plays with a degree of precision and restraint - kind of a controlled minimalism? He knows when to use color to fill in the space where it’s needed, but he never overdoes it. He plays FOR the song, not OVER it. I just find his style to be so tasteful and considered. And don’t get me wrong… I LOVE cats like Aric Improta or II from Sleep Token. But they play with such fire and abandon. Jay almost has more in common with drummers like Sugarfoot Moffett and Carter Beauford, in a way. Is that crazy? Obviously he’s playing a VERY different style of music, but I feel like he borrows a lot from their school of thought and discipline and applies it to a whole different genre. Great vid as always, my guy 🤘

Such a musically intense band. This is going to need a *lot* of listening to find "the pocket" in all the right places - but I think that's time well spent. Dan's vocals are perfectly on point (as always) and the production is tight as a drum. I can't get my head around how they keep all this stuff in their heads and play with *such* razor-sharp precision. Definitely going to get tickets on Friday. 🤞

I didn't even know this was out! My word is it good. Jay Postones is a fucking madman behind the kit. He streams on Twitch pretty regularly, Dan the singer does as well. Tesseract is just solid, no 2 ways about it. Great vid Steve!

So happy for TesseracT. Just from all they've been doing on socials/twitch you could tell they were ready to get back out there with new music, tours, and everything else. Are the two samurai's battling for dominance Sleep Token and TesseracT? What a time to be living with people making music like we have. PS. what's in the water in the UK to give the world this beautiful music?

Meshuggah brought us the metal herta at 230bpm with Bleed "drr dun drr dun drr dun". These guys did it a little slower and it's not just the herta, it comes with other variations packed together in the riffs. For example where that djenty bit starts at 2:43, it's "drd dun drd dun drd ddd drd drd dun" and then that repeats. I know you djent boys understand this language xD

Also? The riff at 3:57 is disgustingly perfect. Top 5 of the year for me - the remaining 4 are reserved for Sleep Token. Pick 4 - yes. Those are my top 4.

Tesseract are head and shoulders above any contemporary. The best/most talented musical group to be produced from Britain in the last 30 odd years.
