    Who is the best dead-lifter of all time and why? And worth noting - all these men had log press max before this.... Also must be noted that this set up on a platform, which was set up on a cambered rugby pitch, with a brutally stiff power bar certainly didn't give any great help to the men. Both Hafthor and Eddie went on to lift 400kg in the same year in competition. It also has to be said - Big Loz and Terry Hollands were right up there with Big Z at this point. And for those that don't remember when it was an extreme rarity - but 400kg/880lbs was, and still is, a tremendous pull.

      Eddie and Thor could have both done quite a bit more on the day I suspect watching their performance. It was DEFINITELY less taxing on Thor. I'd give it to Thor given his natural (in terms of genetics) physique and I'm sure his maximum potential would be well past Eddies. Pound for pound (regardless of them weighing the same) and sheer determination and pulling well past his limits, hard to go past Eddie.

      It seems like tall people actually have an advantage when it comes to deadlifting. Andy Bolton and Benni Magnusson are both 6’0, Eddie is (claimed) 6’3, Big Z is 6’4, Shaw is 6’8 and Thor is 6’9. All of them have pulled 1000lbs and/or had a deadlift world record.

    • @black-my9qm
      @black-my9qm 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@JPqbss Well, tall people can put on more muscle than shorter guys can, so obviously the world record for deadlift would most likely be a taller man. At first though, when a short and tall guy is starting out, the shorter guy would lift more weight simply because they don't have to lock out higher than the tall people would.

      Well I don't think Eddie would've done that easily considering his best log press in competition is 213 kg and that was while he had been preparing for the log for months and not preparing for other lifts. He has done 216 kg in the gym, but again, that was in the middle of his log press-only preparation. He has also failed 220 kg in competition before.
      Thor on the other hand did a very easy 213 kg log at Europe's 2018 and about an hour after that he did 6 very easy reps with a 380 kg axle deadlift.
