Having grown up on a council estate on benefits with both parents choosing not to work, yet still finding money to smoke and go to the pub, I can tell you from experience that many many parents do not prioritise how they spend their money wisely. It was the same story with neighbours, and my wife's family who lived on the same estate.

He was born in 1997 when Labour were in power (from 1997 - 2010) so for the first years of his life, he was starving under Labour .... remember Labour did not advocate and refused free school meals when presented by MP's ! So 2010-2015 it was a coalition government but by this time Marcus would be 18 and in football academy which begs the question about fitness, diet and performance - he can't have been the bad to be accepted !

Dear Lisa. Does it matter if Marcus Rashford was hungry when he was a kid? His work right now is too honest for someone who is lying about his past. Also, the problem in question is not whether Marcus Rashford was hungry or not, the problem is feeding young children who will go hungry during the winter months because the schools that they used to go to is closed because of COVID. what he's doing right now is good work, and deserves to be appreciated.

Giving school meal vouchers in May half-term this year didn't work out..... Asda and the supermarkets reported the mothers were attempting to use the vouchers to buy fags, booze etc so instead, the Government have topped up Universal Credit payments to those that need it most and have given extra Hardship Funding to local Councils to combat free school meals . Where will it all end ? will it be free clothes, free shoes, free housing , free....... and at the end of the day, it is ME, the hard-working tax payer who ends up paying for it all * we made enough packed lunches to feed a small army and even though posters were made up and stuck to everything in sight, a total of 2 children turned up - where were all the starving children?

It’s more than any other European country, so let’s not have a memory loss on what’s been done so far. It’s true that we shouldn’t rely on charities to pay things like this but the net take home pay for just the premier league players is 1.7 billion and I think if Marcus wants to really do something, and I’m sure he does, it wouldn’t hurt to get a meeting together and ask for a 1% donation. It wouldn’t break the players bank and 17 million pounds would help the cause no end and frankly would put the players in a good light. Everybody wins.

Secondly parents give their kids phones so that they can call them in emergencies, which makes sense (my family it was once you walk to school by yourself you have a phone, this also taught use and the next generation of my family how to look after things and how to manage finances as we only had a limited number of calls and texts a month, so they also work as a good learning tool).
Thirdly they aren't expensive, you can get contracts that cost you £10 a month and cover everything.

    How's about we do this.
