I was in a bit of a bad situation as a child and for years a school meal was my only guaranteed meal. Good on Rashford for stepping up.

The issues Marcus talks about go way beyond the support of your particular team, they are simply humanitarian issues that must be addressed by us all. As an LFC supporter I must give Marcus huge respect for what he is saying and doing. We have players at LFC doing similar things, as do other teams around the country and it's the perfect illustration that beyond football, we live in the one country and all need to take some responsibility for what is affecting that country we all share.
Love this game and all who make this exciting spectacle so special for us fans and to have them share in supporting our social issues makes the game even more special :)

There is no reason why a parent should not be able to feed their own children, I lost my job of 15 years in march because of COVID, I currently claim universal credit, I received enough money to feed my own 2 children and pay all my bills, then again I do not gamble, smoke or take drugs and budget my money, I understand what Rashford is doing and admire him makeing a stand.
But we should be calling the parents out, if children are going hungry then it's the fault of bad irresponsible parents not the government.
Evil Limey The problem is that you should not compare your own experiences with those of other people....everyone’s circumstances are different. Just because you managed, doesn’t mean that other people can too. Many years ago I was in exactly that situation where I was struggling to feed my two kids...I won’t go into the reasons here, but a series of events that happened in close succession completely turned my life upside down.....shit like this happens. I don’t gamble, I don’t smoke, I don’t even drink, but I couldn’t cope, if it wasn’t for family members we would have gone hungry. Today I am in a very different place financially and I never have a problem with my tax money going to help others less fortunate than myself.
Imagine what most 22 year olds would do with the money he has.. the kid is a wise guy has more heart than money. Hats off kid 🙌🏾

Just read his plea to the government to extend the food voucher scheme, and his families similar needs when he was growing up. The stance he’s taking to ensure people get the necessary help, well, I had a lump in my throat reading it. He’s been working so hard on this subject for some time now. I’m a man who grew up in ‘Thatcher’s’ Britain a few miles (and a few decades!!) from him. These struggles have been around for far too long for far too many families. I’m a mufc fan, and am really proud of this guy. Not that it matters who he plays for, we should all be proud of him.

cm. CG well it’s been going on for decades. And when I was a kid, there was no Facebook and most families had 2/3 kids, and some parents worked all day and went to work with tape round there shoes and a sandwich because wages were so low. Maybe you don’t remember the 80s. As for today.
