    I enjoy your videos. I lose track of all the ones I follow but am gonna make an effort to view y’all’s. I enjoy the material and appreciate learning from it but most of all I am so grateful for your prayers. It is all the reason for me to tune in. I find it very difficult to keep the Lord first with all of the distractions in the world. Like minded folks that stay true are a big help. So thank you and keep up the good work.

    My daughters had bought me a deer resistant mix of flowers a couple of years ago and I planted more this year and got the bee balm to grow this year. I love it as well as the bees and hummingbirds. Thank you for the planting tips. I will try to follow a lot of them. Take care.

    wow! I just ran across your channel a few minutes ago and I’m just gonna say it was a godsend. The species of Beebalm grows wild in my area all over the place. Unfortunately, every year when I try to harvest some it is already covered with the powdery mildew. needless to say, I have been so frustrated. yesterday, I finally found a small patch that did not have the mildew or wasn’t ate up with some kind of nasty bug. I did clip some and I’m hanging to dry. I was curious about how to propagate, but you answered that question for me in this video. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge, as I will definitely be supporting your channel and I’m looking forward to checking out other videos you have posted. May God bless you and your Homestead . Will definitely keep your family in my prayers.

      Hi Karrie, thanks so much for those kind words. I am so glad you found some without powdery mildew. 😊 We had some on our bee balm this year but once it dried up it recovered well, thankfully.
      We deeply appreciate the prayers. God’s blessings to you and your family.

    I had thought that Monarda was a smaller plant - like 12-15, maybe 18 inches! But those are at least five feet tall! I wasn't expecting that!

    • @RenewedHomestead
      @RenewedHomestead  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Julia! It all depends on the species. The fistulosa can obviously grow tall. 🙂I will probably plant some of the red variety as well. The horse mint cultivar grows shorter.

    thank you! I didn't know bee balm has thymol in it. I love thymol. I first learned about thymol mouth wash by using edgar cayce heritage products years ago when I attended the A.R.E. clinic in Phoenix. I am building my medicinal garden. I will definitely add it to my garden. keep the herbal info coming! God bless you both!

    Ben, can you ask your great great great grandfather a question, since he was there and would know firsthand? I read that the tea party was not about "taxation without representation," which is the common historical story. Instead, it was because England had just removed 2 of the 3 taxes on the tea, and also removed the requirement that tea had to be sold by the East India Tea Company to a third party for transport and sale from England to the Colonies. This lowered English tea prices to be on par with smuggled Dutch tea. The tea party was organized by smugglers upset that these changes would cut into their business. So they really had two disguises, first as colonists opposed to British taxation, and then as Native Americans opposed to European settlers in general. Have you heard about this? What does yor g-g-g-grandfather say?

    • @RenewedHomestead
      @RenewedHomestead  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Randy, not sure he can ask his great, great, great grandfather. 😂
      I asked him and he said nope. 😂
      You are correct that the Revolution was about more than just taxation without representation. That was just one of many issues. I have read a lot of Revolutionary history and have never heard that before. Do you remember where you saw that?

    • @RenewedHomestead
      @RenewedHomestead  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi lady Ryan! Yep, you can do all three. For the tea you would steep the leaves and the flowers and leaves make a great tincture.

    I choose Star Wars! Ben you made me laugh with your joke on the two guys which I will not say their names😂 Thanks so much in the information on Bees Balm. I have grown it for years. Mine is red give to me from a friend. But, I'm going to order the lavender. Have a Blessed Day!

      The lavender one is amazing as well. It definitely grows taller in most cases. That is awesome your friend gave you some. I am going to plant some of the red this spring. God bless! 🙏

    Can I grow this in Zone 9 where we are dry and hot? Do rabbits go for them also. I am in San Diego

    • @RenewedHomestead
      @RenewedHomestead  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Linda, it should be just fine in zone 9. It is drier in San Diego than here in Western North Carolina. We sometimes have powdery mildew issues due to the humidity, so it should do really well there. We have never had rabbits eat it, but we have barn cats that keep the little critters away. Good luck!
