Hot Toys Avengers Age of Ultron ULTRON PRIME Video Review
Hey, Optibotimus, just so you know, the dark coloration on Ultron in certain scenes was due to the lighting. When Ultron flies out the back of the truck and fights Captain America, for example, his plating is the same really bright, clean silver as on this figure. To be sure, he _does_ take multiple bodies throughout the movies (even excluding Mark I and the "Final Battle" version), and that along with possible errors in CGI could result in variation of color, but technically, this figure's coloration isn't actually incorrect in any way.
That head sculpt looks so much better with the lights on, it is really too bad that has to rely on batteries.
I would actually move him a lot for a little bit of paint to wear off so it would look like he was in battle
Now that is something I would spend my money on
Very good review, after seeing xenomorph's review it threw me on the fence on keeping the preorder. After seeing another review You've helped me decide that I'm not keeping my pre-order on it. The face looks way to action figure like for a piece of this cost.
+Danoby2 Well either way, i'm glad i could help you out. I don't understand the "action figure" look though you're talking about. I saw the picture you posted on FB and the sculpting looks exactly how it should. I did talk about how i think the paint should be darker though, is that what you're referring to? The figure is expensive and you should feel you're getting your moneys worth. When i hold the figure and look at the countless parts that make this up, i feel the price is easily justified. The level of detail is phenomenal on this, even if the paint isn't exactly where i think it needs to be

Agree totally with you plus when this figure becomes a shelf warmer or part of Sideshows massive clearances during Halloween or Christmas then I might jump in then that price point might be justified.

I would have included the "angry" head sculpt with the open mouth, and either the upgrade parts or some red energy parts for his hands.

They could have also of made swap out parts to make ultimate ultron
They need to do these figures with NFC so it can draw power from the base when it's on it's stand.
But wouldn't that be more expensive

Good job on the review bro. I think this figure is goegeous! Everyone is saying " he's too clean" OR "he's too bright!" I wonder if they have plans to release a dirtier version as an exclusive. Making more of a reason to keep this one "clean".

Hot toys has NEVER included an AC adapter for any fig, even the vehicles. Only polystone statues have adapters. I think they dont want such a voltage to ever melt the figure or base from the inside. That's why they use LED's and watch batteries to power them.
+chocotastic1 They don't include the actual adapter but they have, many times, made things that you can plug in. A lot of the Iron Man bases and the Hall of Armor for example
An alternate head sculpt to look more like the promotion or concept art would of been awesome, plus a half mangled/crushed mark 2 Ultron head would of been a nice inclusion, something to make this figure seem worth while picking up. But I agree with some people about the current head sculpt, just looks very toy like with a premium paint job. But it's a nice little Easter egg that the classic Ultron face is on his back.
It'd be amazing if the base for figures like this could not only plug in, but could wirelessly power the lights. The technology exists, there's wireless chargers for phones, but it's probably cost prohibitive.

Just received this guy in the mail today, he looks pretty spectacular but good lord getting those batteries in for the light up features are of the utmost difficult, especially the ones that go in the bicep area

O wait, I've watched the scene in which he cuts his arm off more closely and he indeed uses his arm. Or his hand to be specific. It lights up and then he cuts the arm off. But still, why wasn't thát hand included as an accessoire?

The hot toys general grievous was made from a CGI character and had way better articulation then this ultron and other companies like bandai and revoltech have made much more articulated figures with the same design no excuses this ultron's lack of articulation feels cheap and lazy

Dude, for remote control battery delete for Hot Toys check out (meaning Google) "soap reactor". The 1/4 Mk. 43 and Ultron Prime are perfect examples of the need for this great addition called a soap reactor.
