Mate, love your videos and content… was hoping on an off/quiet day you could do a ‘mundane’ video on how you have your tackle box set up…. how you have all of your gear sorted and then how you specifically set up for a day’s fishing given what you’re targeting… keep up the good work
You're an inspiration and great teacher Nev.. Wish I was half the Yak fisherman that you are, hope to see you out on the water someday. All the best mate
The old Australian salmon, or as they call it in NZ, kahawai. Nev, you said that they are crazy strong fighters... that is how kahawai translates "kaha" = strong, "wai" = water, Kahawai = strong in the water. Tight lines mate! Keep the content coming. And good job bleeding them and giving the punters that tip!
Hey Nev Would absolutely love an in depth tour of your kayak and kayak gear, as well as brands u prefer. Looked for one and was surprised to not see anything. Your kayak is a dream ! Beautifull content as usual
Hey Nev, thanks to your awesome content I was inspired to go buy my first Kayak. I have been fishing nearly everyday and have caught more fish than ever with your tips 👌🏼 keep up the awesome videos!
Hey mate you have your outriggers upside down. If you turn the middle part so the holes are in the opposite direction and then the bars left and right can go down rather than up it'll make the floats touch the water instead of being in the air. Slightly more drag but worth if conditions are bad.
@@NevsFishing ohhh fair play, I've just ordered the same ones, got inspired to fish by you over a year back and last week bought my first kayak here in Oz 🤙 Great videos keep it up mate
hey nev, been takin notes off ur vids and just wanted to say, one day you should launch from nungurner jetty and hug the bank, and paddle towards lakes entrance, the flatties are everywhere
Could you tell which fishing spot you normally went to? For example, which ramp do you land your kayak on? You probably then went around that area. Thanks in advance.
I've got a old 14 foot canoe that I use for me and the missus to go for a leisurely paddle around Garden Island here in South Oz. Last week we were just paddling along and a huge dolphin broached literally that close to my paddling arm it sprayed with it's blow hole and scared the shit outta me. I thought a pointer was having a go, I saw one there a week before probably around 6 to 7 foot
Hey Nev thanks for the video and all the videos you have giving to us, me and my dad are hook on your youtube channel. Im heading down to phillip island this Sunday where we are staying at cleeland bight and im extermely interested in buying a fishing kayak. Dont really have the extra cash to pick up your hobie beast just yet but could you tell me the next best thing? Big thanks mate love your work.
Your video heading mentions a "micro lure", and the associated image doesn't look like a MMD splash prawn (which I thought you were using). Can you please clarify what lure was used for the video heading image and what lure you used to such great effect. Regards
Cool video mate.. got two questions for you.. what are Aussie salmon like to eat.. and do you use poddy mullet for bait ,if so could you do a video on how to catch them and how to rig them.. Cheers mate keep up the great videos.. do you have anywhere we can donate to help you out..
Aussie salmon are pretty good. But most people can't cook so they hate them. And for poddy mullet find a school and get some bread and make tiny bread crumbs into the water. And when they start eating get tiny blackfish hook and get a tiny piece and drop it in
Hey so I have tried fishing for flatties in a river called the crooked River at a place called gerroa and I got a 50cm dusky after fishing for about a week and it came off my hook, any tips on how to get more luck?
Hi Nev, it's been a while, I caught covid, lasted over 2 weeks, than the unthinkable happened, my dad suffered a stroke almost loosing him. But I thought I'd catch up with your content.
It begins. Whiting taste waaaaaaay to good not to chase them. Clearly you've eaten your last videos catch and thought, I should really be chasing these more often.
Haha! Love that you complain that it’s not good Whiting fishing conditions but you’ve already caught 3 decent ones!😂
Keep going Nev!

Another ripper vid, Nev! Those Aussie salmon would be annoying if they didn't taste so good on the barbie in thick slabs :)
Haha exactly right! Cheers mate! 👌🏼
Nev when you caught that salmon at 7.30 you donked him into the little outrigger thingos, poor salmon 🐟🤛
Haha lucky for him they are soft, he'll be right!

Salmon are the best fighting fish I reckon on light gear
I agree, they certainly pull some string!
Great video Nev keep it up!
Love the whiting fishing Nev. Are they all king George down your wY or do you get sand whiting too??
We get sand whiting offshore, mainly king George in the bay

in new zealand we call them kahawai and theyre good smoked
is there any reason that you chose a kayak over a little tinny?
Hey Nev, what set up were you using? I'm looking to buy a new reel and rod
Shimano Zodias ML and Shimano Vanford 3000
@@NevsFishing ah, the vanford, seems to be a popular choice. I'm hoping to spend under 200 for the reel, was thinking a nasci or a daiwa tierra.
