Agreed like I commented on the last video... you ain't seen nothing yet.. and it just keeps getting better and better.. when you think it can't possibly get better.. it does... and I can't wait.. and I am all for a #LuciferMonth beginning/ continuing immediately
The time-line is established when Reese first talks to Lucifer at Lux. Lucifer says he's just been an LAPD consultant for a few weeks at that point, so this episode starts about the same time as 1x05 (when Lucifer becomes an official consultant).
This episode did two things really well. It reinforced the rules of Hell, and it showed how in depth and detailed the punishment could get. Just something to keep in mind as the season goes on...
Seasons 1-3 have a lot of filler episodes that don't contribute massively to the main story, but do fill out the episode count to reach the fox acquirement for the number of episodes in a season. From season 4 to 6 Lucifer moved to Netflix, so the number of episodes and the length of an episode became more fluid. On one level I missed the filler episodes as they tended to be nice one off story lines, but then removing the filler allowed for the creation of really good drama from one episode to the next and really made you want to binge the whole season.
This episode is the product of American broadcast Television schedules. Season 3 was purchased for 26 episodes before being canceled. That cranks out a new one every two weeks, write, film, and edit. This allowed for some filler episodes to do character development and gives the writers a break to stretch the main story. You have the Candy, Linda, and two more episodes at the end. Remember Ella mentioned voices in the Candy episode.
This was such a clever episode! It was good to get some back story on Linda. I wondered if her 'problems' with her husband had led her to become involved in being a therapist and help others with their problems. Well done on picking up the clues so early on why this was a big flashback episode at first, not every reactor does.
This episode was really interesting and unique, giving us more insight into Linda and her personal life as well as a more in depth look into a hell loop and how it functions. I really liked it and I also liked seeing how Lucifer is generally perceived by other characters. We saw a lot of people give their opinions on him here, like the people at the LAPD, Dan and Linda and even Chloe. I also really liked the moment where Linda says that Lucifer is a good man and her friend, he looked kind of surprised and awed hearing that, but I feel like he kind of needed to hear it, especially because Reese was calling him evil and stuff, it was very sweet :)
This is such a fantastic episode of Lucifer. The setup and execution were absolutely fantastic while also giving us INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT LORE that'll be extremely important in the show going forward.
I liked this episode because it focused on another, unknown character and how knowing LUCIFER affected him. He was reliving the same thing, over and over again in his own little Hell Loop. And because he didn't accept any responsibility he was stuck there. Over and Over again. Oh, and your reactions at the beginning of the Post. AWESOME. You didn't understand but you never gave up. Thank you. And know, IMO it only gets better as the series goes on. Thanks for sharing this. It was/is awesome.
Hey, I love your Lucifer reactions. Im not much of a TV-Show Fan myself, but I do love Lucifer. This Episode is not directly interlinked to the major plotlines, but it shows us for the first time, how hell and damnation work in the canon of the Series. Understanding that is going to be important later on. Lucifer explains it to Reese and we see it in the end. The damned are not judged by any celestial authority, they just go to hell because of their own subconscius guilt. So they are traped in a hell-loop, a mix of experiencing their greates fears and re-living their badest moments in live. Theoretically they could escape anytime and leave their hell-loop, but for that they would have to deal with their guilt and grow. But they don't. They keep makin their same mistakes, comitting their same crimes over and over. So it is important to reflect about your faults and mistakes while you are alive and deal with the things, you have done wrong. If you did that, you can go straight to heaven after you died. If you did'nt, you end in hell. To understand this concept will be more important in future episodes and seasons.
After the season finale there are two more stand alone episodes, similar to this one they don't add to the storyline, but they give some backstory. I hope you watch them. They're very good.
Always love your reactions, I normally run with the story instead of figuring it out but this was a good one. There are a few in this season that give you insight and drive some stories later on. It does show a bit inconsistencies with season 1 as far as Hell is concerned but any good show that's been on a while will have that.
Definitely an episode high up on my faves!!! Maze hasnt been in it for a while as the actress Lesley who plays her was pregnant in RL. would defo encourage you to go react to more, cos then we get to see more reactions lol! This series also has an insane number of episodes!! ( think its about 27??). xx
I love the reaction, but sadly many episodes, as a solo filler are fun, but doesn't hace that big impact on plot that much. Other than ofcourse little bits of casts acting which brings it all together. Edit: Also this is the first time it is revealed that self conscious decides if person goes to hell or heaven. Which is a big part of later seasons, specially 5 and 6. So this is kind of important episode.
When I first saw this episode, I was confused too (Still love it though), but then I figured out that the first half was a flashback that took place in the middle of season 1 which began from January 2016 to April 2016. Season 2 started from September 2016 to May 2017. As for this episode, it was released on November 2017 in the shows third season. Ergo the second half took place present day a year later. Also, season 2 had a lot of bonus episodes they couldn't use, so they aired them onto Season 3 instead. This very episode was one of them. Hope that cleared things up for you. Love your channel by the way. Hope to see more Lucifer reactions
No I wasn't confused when first watching it as I caught Lucifer's line when he first meets Reese that he's been a consultant for only a few weeks... so it was obviously a flashback at the beginning, then of course 1 year later catches up to real time in the show. First rate episode, and no it is not a "filler" as some suggest - it is essential to the future story in many ways... it shows precisely how Hell works - we send ourselves based on our own guilt, and are free to leave as soon as we accept and deal with it - but no one does. And that Linda's Ex husband just died.... (remember time in hell is not the same - recall Amenadiel said to Malcolm that his real world 30 seconds in hell felt like months or years.... so Reese living one of his own hell loops could take place in a matter of hours or days in real time) And yes this show is very addictive, I cannot fathom how others can limit themselves to 1 episode a week. When it was on FOX we had no choice but the wait a week, but once Netflix took over after season 3, they would drop 1/2 or 1 full season all at once and it was irresistible to binge watch several episodes in a row.
@@saifmehdi178 Yes it is Reese's own personal hell, reliving his experience for which he feels some serious guilt, as Lucifer explained it to him. You have to wait until a much later episode to see who plays the other characters in a hell loop, but you can probably figure that out...
The death of Linda's husband sets up some great scenes between Linda and Amenadiel in the next episode. Not major plot developments, so I'm not spoiling anything. Yet I think they are really touching.
I was legitimately confused to the exact point you where when it pulled the frame to the door in hell. I think this episode is supposed to show what he'll is like because people where confused before
Love this episode, and I feel like it's actually pretty dark compared to how the show usually is. And yes, I was just as confused at first as you were :p
This was the episode where the show really started to get deeply philosophical for me. Most religions talk about Hell as a place of physical torment but this depiction is so much worse to me. Endlessly repeating the worst moments of your life over and over again is one of the best definitions of Hell I could ever imagine and it fits into the idea of the Karmic Circle so wonderfully. There are some episodes that are filler after this but the show continues to grow and evolve and get better and better season by season IMO and this feels like the start of all of that.
There is no such thing as "too much Lucifer content", no need to apologize. Go on reacting and enjoy the ride

@@XxXGRIMLOCKEPICXxX can't blame you
The first 5 words should never be taken out of context but 100% agreed
I have watched it many times and now watch the reactions to see it with new eyes again.

the glint in your eye when there’s violence on screen 👀
This is one of my favourite episodes as well !
And again ! WE NEED ANOTHER LUCIFER WEEK !

We’ve been waiting for what feels like forever bring it on!
This was a great episode. So interestingly told also, changing perspective
Just realised the actor who played Reese was in 'Better Call Saul'.
One of my favorites....
A bit confusing at first but we get a glimpse of how a hell loop works.
It was great to see the Lucifer fam through an outsider's eyes. There was never a scene where Reece wasn't a witness to something.
Yay I woke up in a bad mood thank you this video cheer me up
The anticipation i had to see the penny drop at the end was so good.
Were do I volunteer to get shot? 😂
Love the t-shirt, it's amazing 😃
I didn't grasp this episode until the final scene either.
