Great interview. Lex listens so intently and sympathetically and then asks questions that come from knowledge of the subject matter. Amazing how he extracts the richness that each quest brings. It was a great treat to hear someone talk about AI, Shakespeare, VR, AR, Magritte (ceci n’est pas une pipe), poetry, snakes, and robots. Gavin is one of a kind.
    Comments:
    1. If an AGI were to pass the Turing Test then it would need to have a career or at least some working history to talk about. It could pretend to be a travel agent (in which case it would also have to pass the Touring Test), bricklayer, a teacher, or perhaps an artist. As an artist, if it could fool another artist into believing it was a creative human, then what happens to human art? That is, could not an AGI create massive amounts of art that no one would be able to distinguish as non-human creations, drowning out the few actual human art works of quality. Would anybody even notice the human works, and would the human artist be able to make a living from their art? BTW, there is a great SF story about Turning (somewhat fictionalized) interwoven with the life of someone in the future whose only close companions are robots. “Goodnight, Melancholy” by Xia Jia in the Broken Stars anthology.
    2. Gavin, if you like Magritte, you might enjoy the writings of George Bataille who was a creative companion of Magritte and a companion in the early French Surrealist movement.
    Thank you. William L. Ramseyer

Lex, your podcast is great. The conversations you have with your guests are beyond informative! But, as an audio professional, please allow the breathing to come through and don't edit/gate them out. It feels super unnatural when just listening and not seeing the guest's mouths. Other than that, thank you for your consistency in quality production and content.

Grand discussion. This gentleman's robotic snakes move uncannily realisssssstically. I bump into venomous snakes regularly in my area and that movement was spot on.

hello. Dear prof Lex Fridman ,
    Thanks for your great work.
In some of the popular websites you can watch videos with other languages subtitle (like Ted and coursera) which is done by volunteers from other countries.
I'm a fan of your website and was wondering if you have the same feature? And if so, how can I use it?
Otherwise I can be a Persian language coordinator for you and I can bring some other coordinators as well.
    Best, reza mahmoudi
